Car Rental Rates & Thrifty Question

I noticed car rental rates dropping like a stone lately. A week and a half ago had a resie with Budget for full size $180 8 days Oct 16 - 23 (with taxes and fees). Last Friday full size through Dollar $170(with taxes and fees). Yesterday, resie with Thrifty 130(with taxes and fees) for full size Intrepid or similar:p Three weeks ago Thrifty was $136 for a compact with AU02 code. Love to see the rates drop!!

I've never used Thrifty before(never rented any car in MCO either). I will be traveling with my wife and eight month old and brining our own booster seat...I know Thrifty is a shuttle ride away but $130 for a full size just seems too good to pass up!! Any comments on the rate or Thrifty is appreciated.

Thanks.:wave2:

Great Rate for a full size. Did you use a code to get it? I have not used thrifty before, but did use Alamo when it was off site and didn't think is was that big of deal. Just have to allow a little extra time, especially returning to the airport. Last few trips haven gotten best rate with National EA and that really spoils you. You just walk out to the garage and pick your car.

I joined Thrifty's Blue Chip Membership(no cost) and when the welcome letter and membership card arrived there was a 10% off coupon with code 6676. Tried to book first without the code and the rate was just over $267 for a full size, with the code it is $130.25...that's a heck of a lot more than 10% off!!

I'd love to book with an on-site agency but no matter what codes I try nothing comes close for a full size or intermediate(best I have found so far on EA is $214) and the difference is pretty substantial.

I don't mind Thrifty, even though they are offsite. Their shuttle is always right there waiting, and they aren't far outside the North Exit. I have used them when I couldn't get a good deal via Priceline.

I was checking Dolar and saw they had the same special for a full size car at 123$ plus tax. So I checked out Thrifty used "CODE 6676" and got my Full size there for 127.35 taxes and all For a week in Oct 20th.

So far things looking better for Disney each day. Car Rental Cheap, Deal on US Air for 99$ fare special!. Dad happier each day. Just need hotel now lol!

Always Thankful for the great Tips!

Good thing I booked when I did. Checked out all of the sites again today. Thrifty went from $130.25 to $228.16 with the same code...Dollar and EA well over $200 too. I'm getting nervous about my resie as it seems too good to be true. Can they bump up my price after it's been confirmed for any reason???
