We are heading to Aulani in January.

When I made the DVC reservation about 6 months ago I started looking at renting a car. The best deal at the time was thru Costco at about $1300 for a12 day rental. Over the last month, prices started to drop. Today the same rental was $754. Much better!!

Looking forward to our first visit to Aulani and the $546 decrease in the car rental with free resort parking is a big bonus.

Keep checking those rental rates for possible savings.

Hmm Im going to take a look at this. We are set to go in the Spring but I was thinking of
changing to Feb until I saw rental car prices. Thanks.

We're just under two months now and it hasn't budged in months but I still check every day

I think that checking daily is the key. I just checked and the price went up $50 today so maybe I found the lowest rates I am going to get but I will keep on checking daily.

Also check AutoSlash! I kept checking Costco, AutoSlash, Priceline, and direct with rental companies. I ended up getting the cheapest through AutoSlash within a week of my trip (it was fulfilled through Priceline, but via AutoSlash... I didn't see the same deal if I went direct through Priceline). It was Hertz for $250 for a week (compact car) with free cancellation. This was for a couple weeks ago.

Our mini van price dropped about $100, now down to $545 for a week in late Jan/early Feb. Not great but a whole lot better than when I started booking a few months ago. It started at $750 or so, so at least prices are going down. Can't say that for many things these days.
