Car Rental in Fort Myers, Fla.

We are spending some time in Fort Myers prior to a Disney World vacation this summer. What is the best way to go about finding the best deals with regards to car rentals? I know there are a lot of coupon/discount codes out there and want to think we're getting a fair price/good deal.

Not sure if this is a question that is better posted on the Transportation board?

I rented a car from FOX rentals at the Ft. Myers airport last summer. It was really affordable & they didn't try to make us upgrade or add a bunch of extras. The rental desk wasn't in the main terminal (we had to take a shuttle) but we received good service at a really reasonable rate.

I have had success at Priceline I got a rental car as little as 6$ + tax a day.. (prem I think even).

If you plan on dropping it off at WDW use Alamo or National. We usually fly into Tampa and rent there, then when we get to Disney we drop off our luggage and then the car (at the WDW car care center, Hess gas station right next door to fill up). They take you to wherever you want to go from there, we go straight to Epcot for our first day! Then we use the Magical Express for the rest of our vacation. Keep checking prices as you get closer. My price per day last June was only around $8.00 with my Alamo insiders deal plus they let me use an Entertainment book coupon. I just booked a car for my boss (Tampa) and she had to pay $128.00 for 5 days but she wanted a large car, we usually get a midsize. Also no room to wait on a discount because she needed it the next day.
