Greetings everyone!

I'm new here. Please forgive me if this is a frequently asked question:

Our family is planning a Disney trip for the end of January 2007. I am beginning to research car rental options and my head is spinning! Could someone give me an idea of what would be a good deal for a daily rate (including all those taxes and fees) for a middle size car? It's hard to compare deals when I don't even know what a "good deal" is! We'll need the car from Jan 27 to Feb 2, 2007.

Thanks in advance for your help!

:)

First off you want to go to Budget and Dollar rent a car and join their free express services. FastBreak for Budget and Express Lane for Dollar. Then go to Mousesavers.com and look for coupon codes. I got a full size in Nov. for $159 for 6 days using a walmart code i found on Mousesavers. But I stress joining the express services for budget and Dollar those 2 agncies are right on terminal and they are great. Stay away from alamo and the others go with 1 of these 2 no matter what anyone tells u.

We usually rent a mid-size car from National, using the Emerald Aisle. National is right in the airport, but using Emerald Aisle you can bypass the counter and go right to the garage to pick out your car. Very fast and you can pick the car and color you like from any in the Mid size aisle.

Since Alamo merged with National, they moved to the airport. They are also good.

Enjoy your vacation.

Alamo has a midsize for your dates for $178.03 total including taxes/fees if you use the MasterCard free day coupon (from mastercard.com)

OTRGal we will be there the same time as you! I'm still dragging my feet on rental also. We have five in our family and dh doesn't think a full size car will be enough space. Mini vans are outrageously priced, so it looks like we'll be getting a Jeep Cherokee or similar mid size SUV. We fly into Tampa on the 26th to get some time on the beach and see the Gasparilla parade, then will drive over to Orlando after the parade (before Tampa gets out of hand! :scared: ) until the 4th, then drive back to Tampa to fly home.

I got on the Budget mailing list and get weekly deals which are comparable or better to Thrifty and the other cheap one. I'll have to sign up for Dollar but I doubt they will come close with what their standard prices are. I think Budget emails list standard size at $169 and full size or luxury at $199. I can't remember since I pay attention to the SUV $269 prices.

Anyone know if I am renting it for 10 days does the weekly rate continue past the 7 days? Would I do better to go through the hassle of returning it in Orlando the following Fri and get a weekend special separate coupon rate for the last to nights? We will pay nearly as much for our rental as for five of us to fly there from WI!
