Hi, this is our first holiday to Disney with 3 kids. Does anybody with 3 kids know what car I need to hire? Do we need a 7 seater or will a large 5 seater suv fit 3 car seats across the back? Any advice/experience/tips welcome. TIA

i would think a large suv will suit, we got one a few years back which was a 7 seater suv and had loads of room

I was wondering if we could get away with a 5 seater?
Does anyone know if a Jeep Liberty is big enough? Or a Chevrolet Uplander or Blazer? A Dodge Durango is a full size 7 seater

since you'll need space for luggage, you might be better off with a mini-van..
the mini-vans are very easy to drive...
that's what we always rent....(for 4 of us....though this trip will be 6)..

we rent from alamo...i just booked one yesterday....it was cheaper than the SUV...

As a family of 5 we are in a similar situation and I definitely think the 7 seater mini van is the way to go.
Much better for luggage space. But more importantly gives everyone a bit of breathing space. When we got into the car after a long day at the parks we founds the troops enjoyed having a chill space from each other :goodvibes

The first year we went with all three of our kids we got a free upgrade - we had already paid to upgrade to a large saloon but they were out so we got a free upgrade to a 7 seater mpv. Kids absolutely loved it and we have always booked a 7 seater since. There is not a massive price difference between a large saloon and a 7 seater, I have just paid £590 for a 7 seater for three weeks in Aug.

What you have to remember is that the US 7 seaters are nothing like the uk ones which frankly I think are a waste of time. I looked at 7 seaters and the ones with the best room were the Kia Sedona and Grande Voyager. In the end I decided that I wasn't buying a 7 seater for the odd occasion when I have another child in the car. However, we do always hire one in the US for the fun factor for the kids.

I did a bit of research for our trip as we need three car seats across the back seat as well.

I didn't want a 7 seater people carrier thing because the way the seats are configured one of the kids would be sitting on their own. Way down the back of the car.

I asked on the families board and was told the "intermediate SUV" suggested cars (jeep liberty was one of them) most people said they couldn't get three seats across those models - I asked there as they would have personal experience of most of those cars.

In the end we have gone with a SUV through Dollar which says it is a Jeep Cherokee or similar - people have said we can get three car seats in the Jeep Cherokee so hopefully that is the car we we get or if we get similar we can fit the 3 car seats otherwise we will have to change to a people carrier.
