I have been getting prices for our 10/11 day trip for August for car rentals. They are all $600 and more. Any ideas? Is this right? When should I start looking for discounts - some show til April. TIA

We rented for 10 days last Aug. The entire amount was $278.82 from Dollar.

I don't think I booked till June or July though.

Just keep watching. You might also see about National's Emerald Club, where you reserve and pay for an Intermediate but can take just about anything (including convertibles and vans) they have except Luxury calss.

Also be aware of what is in a quote. In Florida there is a $2.05 per day "road impact fee" as well as about a 10% Airport Concession fee and some other fees. Everything, including all the insurance and nuisance fees, is subject to Sales Tax

I just betterd my 10 ressie for January 04 at National by 43.00! Using an internet coupon, product rate code and cont. code- I was able to get an intermediate at the Emerald aisle for 236.00- the best price by far I've found. Keep trying - it may be a little too far off right now.

i used thrifty car rental i know it's off the airport but since we're staying so long the few minutes longer to wait for a shuttle is ok we are staying from jan. 6th - 17th i got a weekly rate of $51.92 extra days $17.66 i checked rates everyday and started with a rate of 84.92/week you can cancel without paying any extra so check often
i also used a discount code found on mousesavers with a savings of an extra 10%
