car rental first half of august ????

I am going 8/3-8/14. Has anyone else noticed that budget and national both have bypassed specials for this time period or is it just me. I thought I might be able to get a cheaper rate as we got closer but still nothing. Anyone have any good codes. I would prefer national. I have checked mousesavers and have used bj's and aaa codes.

This was a complaint of mine too - have booked a rental through Alamo for our friends - an SUV, and the cost is $247.02, incl taxes. I thought this was high but now see that it is a good rate for this time period.
What i used was: Contract 430710 (Wal-mart from Mousesavers board); Rate code BQW and an online coupon Alamo offered for $25. off. Have not checked lately to see if the rate is the same, but i booked it for them a month ago.Their dates are the 16-23rd.
