Car Rental Companies *Dollar vs. Budget*

Do you have a preference? I've only ever rented with Enterprise but they are so expensive. I have one booked thru Budget for a much cheaper rate. I also have one thru Autoslash.com with Dollar.
We'll be renting a minivan. I had read somewhere that Budget doesn't use newer vehicles & they have higher mileage?
So, any input or thoughts on either of those 2 companies? I'd love to use Alamo or Hertz for the kiosk or online check in but they are out of my budget for this trip unless I find some awesome codes or discounts.

Between Dollar and Budget, I would rather rent with Dollar. I prefer to choose my own rental car from the available cars. When I rented with Budget two years ago, I was assigned a car, an Eclipse. I didn't like driving it. When I choose my own car, I try to pick one with that does not have Florida license plates. It makes it (slightly) easier to find the car in the parking lots.
