Car rental at Sanford airport

Hubby and I need to rent a car from Sanford airport. However, our return flight home leaves on a Sunday morning at 7:30am. So we will need to return our rental car around 6am Sunday morning.

How do I find out hours of car rental companies at this airport? Do you think any places would be open at that hour?

We did this last summer... rent a car from Sanford and had to return it super early... we were able to just drive it in, park it with other cars being returned in the wee morning hours , and I can't remember what we did with the keys (if we were told to leave them in the car or put them in a box) but it worked out to be no problem.

The westerberg has it correctly. When we did this, there was a person directing you to a designated parking area with the instructions to leave the keys in the ignition.
