Car insurance with Priceline UK

I hired my car through Priceline UK and my offer was accepted and booked with Alamo. I had a lot of worry before I went as to whether SLI (otherwise known as EP or extended protection) was included (this is the top up insurance that you really do need in the states)

Priceline were less than helpful and would not confirm that it was so I rang Alamo to check and they said that it was and I'm glad to report that when we went to collect the car it was there in black and white that it WAS included.

From what I've read on this and on other boards this seems to be usual for Priceline NOT to confirm that you have this insurance but for it then to be included if you end up with Alamo (as everybody seems to)

So I had a lot of worry and could have paid out extra cash for nothing.

I'll use Priceline again for hotels but I think next time I'll book my car elsewhere!!!

I did exactly the same thing in February, hoping I wasn't going to be the first person to not get Alamo where insurance is included. I rang Alamo in the uK and they confirmed the insurance/SLI etc just after my offer was accepted.

The only reason it was worthwhile was because we were not booking whole weeks.

I GOT A GREAT PRICE FROM PRICELINE FOR A FULL SIZE ALAMO CAR. THIS WILL BE MY FIRST TIME TO ORLANDO. I AM STAYING AT A VILLA IN VISTA DEL LAGO AND WOULD LIKE SOME ADVICE FOR MAPS AND DIRECTIONS. CAN I GET THIS AT THE AIRPORT OR AT ALAMO.
ALSO WHAT WAS THE SERVICE LIKE SUCH AS WAITING FOR THE TRANSPORT TO ALAMO AND THE DISTANCE FROM THE AIRPORT.

ANY ADVICE WOULD BE APPRECIATED

Hi Jade

Once you have collected your luggage (for the 2nd time!) you go down another level and the buses for the car hire depot are there.

We had to wait maybe 10 minutes for the Alamo bus to arrive, then maybe 5-10 minutes as the bus got loaded with people and then it was 10-15 minutes to the depot.

Once we got to the depot we only had 1 person in front of us (maybe we were lucky!) so we just had to leave credit card details, sign the form and off we went.

We did get a map of the area from Alamo which was ok but not fantastic.

I don't know if anyone else has recommendations re maps???

If you have rented your villa from a private owner then they should send you detailed instructions of how to find their home from the airport.If it is through a travel agent then you will have details of where to pick up your keys and then you will get instructions to your home.
