In the spirit of driving to Florida for March break:cool1: , what games do you play in the car? We have the dvd player and nintendo games, but believe it or not, every few hours I get the.....I'm bored:confused3 ! Any good ideas? We do play the usual I spy, I have found websites in the past for license plate bingo, but am always on the lookout for good games. Even store bought ones if they are ok in the car!:dance3:

1) Do alliteration poetry games- (i.e.) Jumpin Joesph joined the jungle jaguars. 2) Play the picnic game. People go around saying what they would bring to the picnic- if they say something that begins with the same letter as their name then they get to go to the picnic- if not they can't go- kids go crazy trying to figure out who can go to the picnic and who can't! Have the kids keep guessing until they figure out how to 'go to the picnic.' 3) Play the telephone game- the person behind the driver begins with a message and whispers it to the person beside them- continue along until the driver says the message. Often enough it is so far from the original that it makes the kids really laugh! 4) Give the kids a map- and tell them little historical bits about each area that you are driving through 5) Card games 6) Suduko math games 7) Word searches and cross words- get highlighters and fancy pens to make it more exciting 8) Audio Books- you can often borrow from the library 9) Travel notebook- record facts about their trip so far in their journal- or draw pictures about what they have seen 10) sing action songs that they can do while seated (i.e) YMCA or Skin-a-mar-ink-y-dink-a-dink or If You're Happy & You Know it 11) If you were a Disney character what would you be and why?? 12) Get a mad libs book and fill them in as a family- kids learn about the parts of speech and it provides a laugh 13) Debate whether kids should get more recess or a longer lunch 14) Talk about their favorite books and discuss what makes then so special 15) Read a couple of lines from a book and let the kids provide the sound effects for it. 16) Get some magnetic letters and a magnetic board and let the kids make words or sentences with them- it's a great manipulative! OK so it's late at night and I can't think anymore! Hope these help! ;)

Oh my goodness! Those are great! Thanks for taking the time to post all of those! Thanks so much!:)
