Hi, all -

I have a one-way rental at the end of this month, picking up in Jax, doing some family stuff there and in Tampa, and hitting Disney for 3 nights, starting Sunday afternoon. The one-way thing is typical for me since I combine visits with family stuff, and I always drop off at the Car Care Center and grab a shuttle to my resort. However, one-way rentals to Car Care (Alamo or Enterprise) are unavailable this time, even if I adjust dates or dropoff locations. I called to inquire, and all they can say is it’s not available.

Next best seems to be renting from Avis, dropping off at the Hilton in Disney Springs, though I’d like to drop off the car on Sunday afternoon so I don’t have to think about it again, but the app/Costco travel, etc, are showing that I have to wait until Monday to drop off - I can’t get ahold of anyone at the location to see whether after-hours dropoff on Sunday is possible, and the central Avis people don’t know. And I can’t identify any other nearby off-airport location (any agency) that allows Sunday afternoon dropoffs.

Right now, I’m dropping off Sunday at MCO, which has me passing Disney and dealing with airport nonsense (bleah).

I’m not bothered much about getting the absolute lowest rate - the big agency prices are all kind of similar, and I’m looking for convenience.

Anyone here have thoughts or insight? Am I missing something obvious? Thanks!

It’s quite a bit more expensive to keep the car for another 4 days, and I’m not interested in driving to MCO during rush hour midweek, which would be the case. It’s cheaper and more convenient to drop it Sunday, even if i have to do MCO. I’m really looking for thoughts about after hours Sunday dropoff or other dropoff locations I’m not considering. Thanks!

Anything near Universal Studios to drop the car off at? Then just Uber/Lyft to Disney?

Yes - that is available!! And it’s like 80 cheaper!!! Thank you!!! Whoot!!

ETA - ha, available and $10, that was before fees and taxes. But still less painful than MCO…and a cheaper Uber ride. Thanks , wasn’t even considering this!

A little ouside the box, see if you can return your JAX car at TPA then rent a car from TPA with a return to CCC.

You said you're visiting in Tampa.
