Hi - I was doing a little last minute trip planning and was wondering if most cars in England have a DC power port (used to be the cigarette lighter). The ones in the US are 12V, is that the same as in England? I'm renting a car and was wondering if my charger will work. Thanks!

Yes your charger will work here-they are universal!!
and yes we still have the power points in cars

I take our car charger and tomtom connection and have no problems when we hire a car in USA

I was asking because I realized we'd bought converters/adapters for the AC power items, but I didn't know if I needed find converters/adapters for DC items.

I'm planning on using my GPS as well to navigate around England...my first time driving in England. It'll be an adventure!
