Car bras?

What is the purpose of a car bra? I've heard of them, but have no clue what they are for? I know they go on the front of the car, but do they overheat the car? Do you have to take it off in hot weather because they get sweaty or anything?

To keep the chipping of your paint from debris down. Also keeps the bug guts off.

Not sure if you have to take them off for heat reasons. I don't see why you would.

My dh says if you bought a cheapie one and it covers up the inlets then yes it can....

Many people use them in Florida - especially during love bug season. They are basically a vinyl cover that is flannel backed that you put over the front of your car above the bumper. Many are made specifically for your vehicle with cutouts for the headlight area and any ventilation areas.

We don't use one, because if you leave them on your car too long you inevitably end up doing something to the paint. It's easier to just wash the love bugs off your car on a daily basis when they are in season.

Well, that's the rub....you then would have a buggy cover. Who wants to clean that? Can you go through the carwash with it on? I would think that carwashes wouldn't allow bras.

Do they come in different colors? I know of one poster who really likes to match her bra to other items of clothing....

In addition, if debri gets caught under neath the material is can scuff the car's finish as well.

I'm not knocking them. I've got one for the Vette. But as soon as it's in the garage, the front cover comes off and hung on it's own hanger.

What year vette, I have one too, and you put it on yours? So I guess its not a vanity thing, like the airplane wings on some cars.

I guess a car bra is like any other, once its wet it must come off!

I've never seen one, but I saw a truck with something hanging from the trailer hitch that looked as though it needed one . . .

No on the Jock strapes but I had a truck that needed one as it had a set of Bullballs on it.
