Hi fellow Disers! I would love to have some opinions on the Captain's Grille at the Yacht Club. We currently have a ressie for this restaurant the first part of December. It was my only "undecided" choice. I thought it looked good and had a good menu selection for all of us. Unfortunately, I have now heard some bad reviews! We want to eat either in Epcot or in an Epcot resort that particular night. We are doing Chefs and don't want to use a signature dining for LeCellier. Any review of the restaurant or input would be appreciated. Thanks!!

We ate there last Friday and LOVED it. We all ordered the Ribeye with cheddar bacon mashed potatoes. It was excellent. The kids really enjoyed their meals as well, especially the chicken noodle soup. Its not on the menu, but the kids had a steak option as well as the fish of the day (salmon when we were there).

We went there last October and hated our dinner. We both had the NY Strip (DH regular, me bourbon marinated) - they were oddly cooked, kind of tough and very small for the price. Mine somehow had no flavor despite being marinated.

Or maybe give it a try but stay away from the strip steaks. I will say the service was excellent!

We go fairly often and like it just fine.

Thanks you all for responding. Now, I just have to decide. . . .:confused3

OK - how about this one ??? Captain's Grille or Grand Floridian Cafe???:confused3

We (family of four) loved Captains Grille. We have found this to be one of the hidden Epcot Resort gems. Aside from the hustle of Cape May, and the price of Yachtsman. We like the Ribeye, and the Chefs pasta creation (last time we went it was a bowtie pasta Alfredo style with broccoli and chicken.) Also a personal favorite of mine was the No sugar added gelato (it was raspberry or strawberry in December, not sure which one. But it was good!) The servers seem to be very nice, it's been somewhat empty most times we've gone, but don't let that steer you away from it.

That's my dilemma for one night, we're going to one or the other, just not sure which one yet! I think I'm leaning towards the GFC though!

I think "just fine" is accurate. The meal was good -- appropriately cooked, tasty, but nothing standout or stellar. My dining party loved the crab legs, and my uncle enjoyed his crab cakes & steak. My veg dish was pretty good -- I am not an eggplant fan but enjoyed it so it couldn't have been too bad lol. They offer virgin daquiris as a drink on the DDP and I had a strawberry one, which was amazing.

We loved our meal there. We ate there twice and the first time I went I got the crab legs which were just fine and DH got the pork chop which was great! So of course we had to go back o I could get it. My DH requested that we go there again next trip coming up.

I wont say it was the best meal but it was good enough that we are returning.

I've been to the Captain's Grille on my last two trips. I really enjoyed the food both times. The restaurant is kind of empty and nothing great but the food was good. We also have eaten at the Grand Floridian Cafe a couple of times. The first time I ate there I really enjoyed it. The second time however wasn't very good...could have been an off night! As far as the restaurant itself goes...just walking inside the Grand Floridian is awesome so I guess I would pick that restaurant over the Captain's Grille.

Thanks to everyone! I think I'll keep the ressie for the Captain's Grille after hearing positive responses! We're doing Citricos earlier in the week so I will still get to go to the GF.:)
