Captain's Grille @ yacht club

We have a ressie for the Captain's Grille at the Yacht Club in January. We have heard it is a good place to eat. I thought I would put this out there to get some feedback from other DISers.

The last time I ate at Captain's Grille I thought the food was pretty good, but didn't feel the menu had tons of choices. Since then they have added a few choices (i.e. crab legs) which I think may sway me to try the restaurant again.

Also, on our visit we had reservations right when the restaurant opened for dinner so the atmosphere was nice - not loud or crowded, but the service was just average.

Not my first choice of restaurants, but definitely not near the bottom.

We had two great meals at Captain's Grill (breakfast and dinner) and thought it was one of the best kept secrets in Disney.

It was a little pricey, though.

We ate there NYE last year and had a great meal with very good service. I'd definitely go back.

We had dinner there once, it was the best pork chop I ever had...the salads were excellent too..great service, nice quiet relaxing atmosphere

We ate there as a party of two (DH and myself) in October of 2008...if you see the link below for my Dining Reviews you can find photos there. We really enjoyed it and got in WITHOUT an ADR.

During our May 2009 trip, we had one night with no ADR for our party of seven, and walked over there on a whim (we were staying at Boardwalk). We got a table with minimal wait and I think everybody in our party (4 adults, 2 kids...one fell asleep before his meal arrived) enjoyed the food there.

I always keep it in mind as an on-site backup restaurant when we don't have ADRs or don't make one of ours. We really love it.

I thought it was fine but not spectacular. DH was not happy with his fish. I would not choose to go back but if I was with someone who wanted to go, I would go along. My steak was flavorful, not very large and had quite a bit of fat on it. Dessert was underwelming.

Had lunch there in June for the first time. The server was very speedy and food was delicious. I had the crab cakes appetizer and the lobster roll. both tasty. Had the chocolate cake for dessert which was fine but not mouth watering.

Overall thought it was a great place and will go again.

We really liked it when we ate there about a year ago. The service was great and it was much quieter than most restaurants at WDW. The food was good and was appropriate to the price point. Not totally gourmet, but quite good.
