We're going to the Captain's Grille for Christmas brunch/lunch. What is the dress code? I realize most say anything goes, but will t-shirts make you stick out from the crowd?

No dress code; you'll blend in with a t-shirt. Restaurants in the park at Magic Kingdom are informal and have no dress code expectations. Epcot and Boardwalk are a whole different ballgame where some women might wear a designer gown; host will only ask that baseball caps are removed at some table restaurants.

No dress code. We go just as we dress for the parks. This one isn't signature dining either just a standard resort TS restaurant.

We had Thanksgiving Day brunch and were dressed for a park. There were a few tables that were well-dressed: ladies in dresses, men in polo or collared shirts. Majority were in nice park clothes and a few looked like they just rolled out of bed. As long as you don't mean an undershirt, you'll be just fine.

Of course, my recommendation would be a nice Christmas park tee or sweatshirt!

We went Monday night from the park in shorts and tees. Plenty other families were there dressed the same. There were some others dressed in nicer clothes but nothing more than sweaters or polos and khakis.

I don't understand your post.
Captain's Grille is not at the MK, nor Epcot, nor Boardwalk. It is in the Yacht Club Hotel. Was the designer ball gown remark an attempt at humor?

OP, At any rate a T shirt will not stand out. When we do hotel restaurants we usually dress up a bit in polos and nice shorts, but you will be fine in a T shirt and shorts

Thank you all for your input, it has been very helpful!

Has there been any more news on when the CG will go down for its rehab/expansion? Initial announcement said "early 2017", which would mean, if this were an attraction, about 18 months from now.
I have a reservation there next month for breakfast, so I'll probably be all right. Wouldn't mind though if it closed and breakfast and lunch were moved over to the Yachtsman, since it's one of the few places I've never eaten. (I'm assuming that's what they'll do, just as B and L at the Grand Floridian Cafe were temporarily moved to Citricos a few years ago.)

I d like to know when they're refurbishing also, we have breakfast reservations for April.

Just an update as we've gotten back. The brunch was fantastic! What a great restaurant! We will definitely go there again. Our waitress was so fun & added to the good time had by all.
