I apologize if this has been addressed already but any word when Captains Grill will reopen in its original spot? I have tried to make a res for breakfast on 1/1/18 and 1/2/18 on WDW website and it says no times available. I know they were operating out of Aerials but they didn't offer the buffetthere.

"New England inspired comfort food" for breakfast, lunch and dinner. OK....

I think that we've lost a reasonably priced, handy place to eat. I'll reserve judgment on the new restaurant.

My husband and I were upset that Captain's Grille at Yacht Club is no longer there. We really enjoyed the lobster omelet the last time we were there for breakfast and we both were looking forward to having it again. Ugh!

I just stumbled across this thread. I'm so sad to hear that Captain's Grille is gone. Hopefully the new place will be great.

Strangely enough, I just checked the ADR I had made for Jan. 1 at Captain's Grille. It is still there. If I hadn't stumbled across this information about Captain's Grille closing, I wonder what would have happened on Jan. 1 when all 5 of us showed up for our reservation. :rolleyes1

I've been trying to figure this out. We're going in 2 weeks and couldn't get an ADR. Apparently the whole refurbishment/new restaurant thing is taking longer than expected. Last I heard, the Yachtsman will be serving breakfast and lunch for a month or two so that Yacht Club guests have a sit-down option. Ariel's stopped serving September 30th. I don't know if the Yachtsman will have a buffet breakfast, but we're hoping to get there when we go in a couple weeks, so I'll report back if we do.

Captain's Grille was one of my favorite restaurants on property for food, theming, decor, and service. It was one of the very best hidden gems on property. If they had to replace a restaurant, I sure wish it hadn't been this one.
