Does it make sense to have dinner at the Captains Grill when visiting Epcot. It seems that walking over the the Yacht Club is not a long walk. Any thoughts?
Thanks so much.

It's not a long walk at all from IG, 5 - 10 minutes depending on your walking speed. Straight shot over the bridge, past the BC and stormalong bay and enter through the YC lobby.

Not a bad walk, and that whole lagoon/Boardwalk/Beach Club/Yacht Club area is awesome. Love the look and feel of that area.

Makes total sense. Maybe a 5 minute walk outside the back entrance/exit. We also had a fabulous meal here last year. One of the best we've had at Disney ever. It was a very pleasant surprise for a last minute ADR.

May I ask what your entrees/apps/deserts were?

My DH and MIL had specials. His was a pasta special that I think they described as a beef stroganoff type of dish and he loved it. My MIL had the vegetarian special that was homemade raviolis of some kind not sure about the sauce but again she was very impressed. I had pork tenderloin with a delicious fruit sauce. Not the same as what's on the menu now though it changed. It was absolutely melt in your mouth tender and delicious.

It's quite close and usually uncrowded because it's a basically unthemed restaurant with no characters or anything like that. Food is pretty good.

This was our surprise "loved it!" restaurant this past New Year's trip. Was our first time there, and all four of us (parents and two older teen kids) enjoyed it a lot. We'll be returning!

Yep we've done that to see Illuminations when we were staying offsite. Worked out great. The short rib is good.

A very short walk and a great dinner! We actually cancelled one of our other ADR's to go back because my kids LOVED it! (We have multiple food allergies that they managed beautifully for my family and we had just a top notch time both times!)

OP this post would be a much better fit on one our Restaurant Board. If I had seen earlier I would've moved, since you have received information you requested. I will not move your post and thread. TP&S Board is not the best board for dining questions. Have a wonderful vacation at WDW.

IMO the captain's grille is the best kept secret of the EPcot resorts (crescent lake) and the best kept secret of the MK resorts (monorail) is Grand Floridian Cafe.

We've eaten there several trips! Dh & DS always love the steaks, and I think the crab legs are super!!!

To the OP - I suggest that you add some time allotted for your dinner so, after dinner, you can take a nice slow walk all around Crescent Lake. Once you exit Epcot from the International Gateway and see the area, I think you'll understand why.

Great breakfast buffet also. My daughter and I ate there while her two boys went on a 2 hour Pirate Adventure sailing from the Yacht Club. Relatively reasonable price (for Disney) for a nice morning buffet. Not the hustle bustle, noise levels as with the typical character buffets, good food.

DH and I have had great dinners there many times. :thumbsup2 I agree with the walk around Crescent Lake. Very relaxing and enjoyable. Have a wonderful evening pixiedust:
