What's the difference between this excursion and the one offered by DCL? Price? Customer service? Size of group?

Details please!

The Disney ships were very crowded, we booked directly with Capt. Marvins and had about 18-20 people on our ship..plenty of room! The staff on the ship was great. I would not hesitate to book directly with Capt. Marvins instead of goign through DIsney.

I agree Captian Marvns was great. We went with them on 2-15 with a group from the dis board. I was wonderfull. 2 dd kissed the stingray, I held them. The staff was wonderfull. Helped all of us as it was our 1st snorkling time. Have nerver done dcl excursion. hope this helps

All of the ship's boats that we encountered (both Disney and other ships in port that day) were very crowded. We had our party of 9 and another family of 4 from the Magic on our boat and that was it! It was a great experience and we all really enjoyed ourselves.

We are going on Captain Marvin's the end of this month. I have a ? for those of you who went already...what did you do with your bag of personal stuff while you were in the water???? We won't have a lot but maybe a crdit card for shopping after the excursion. I am also glad to hear about the great experiences everyone has had with them. :flower: :sunny:

We went in early Feb with Capn Marvin and had a fabulous time; we just left our stuff on the boat in the bag, didn't have any problems; had cc and cameras; there were 2 other groups there when we arrived but by the time we got ready and got in the water they were leaving; had another group arriving as we were leaving so wasn't crowded at all; ship also had a videographer on board who dove around us and shot a video while we fed the stringrays; very cool!

We did Captn Marvins back in '02....here are some pics (click on the links)...it was the highlight of our trip. I found it cheaper and a more convenient excursion time than the DCL excursion. We did the 2.5 hour excursion and found it to be plenty!!!

The other difference was that Disney would not allow our almost 3 year old on the Disney excursion but I was able to book directly with Captain Marvin's and he told us the age wasn't a problem at all. And, really wasn't. It is a great experience.

Hi, mmouse37 (MJ).....great pics! (I can't wait to go!!!) What kind of camera did you use?

The camera was just a Fuji underwater disposable I got at Wal-Mart for about $7.00!!

DO you have to pay prior to arriving? What if your boat can't trender during your trip - do you get a refund like you would with DCL?

also - I have a fearless 4yr old - would she enjoy it. How deep is the water?

Thanks!!!

When we went in May I'd say the water was between 3 and 4 feet deep. I've heard it can be deeper depending on the time of year you travel. My SIL went during Xmas time and she said the water was 5 feet deep.

Our 6 year old love it as soon as she got use to the stingray. However, our 3 year old was practically sitting on my head to avoid the stingrays. My 6 year old loved the snorkling part.

When I contacted Captain Marvins a few months ago they need a credit card to hold your reservation. They prefer to be paid in cash when you arrive, but you can pay with a CC. If the ship is unable to make the stop in GC your CC will not be charged. I can not comment on the excursion its self, I have 5 more weeks to wait. :flower:

Let me know how you like after your back. I'd love to hear allllll the details!
