I would like to know if it would be possible to take a picture with Captain Jack Sparrow.... And if so, where would he be.. near Pirates ride?

I don't know if you can get a picture with him. But, in 08 we were walking past the pirate ride (had just gotten off) and saw him hiding behind a pillar. It was so funny. He was sneaking around the area from pillar to pillar. Then he had his show with the other pirates. Maybe after it was over you could get a picture?

From what I have heard he doesn't do meet and greets and rarely will stop for a picture.

The only time Jack ever did pictures was during the PPP. Disney took those away and there is not currently an alternative.

When I went in May 2009 (during the great rain), he did stop for photos and autographs - it was emphasized it was a once off. CMs were hovering. While Jack did not have a CM (it was a once off), I overheard a CM saying he doesn't stop for photos/will not stop (due to safety issues etc) but this was a treat due to the rain and his show had been rained out. It was a very rare thing.

The best you can probably do, is to have someone else take your picture
with Capt. Jack in the background, during the Pirate Tutorial.
Good Luck! pirate:

He is not allowed to stop for photos with guests. Doing so could cost him his job. ;)

I hope I don't come across as argumentative because I really just hope to make sure info is accurate. You see, I had my pic taken with Jack Sparrow at MNSSHP last year. It WAS very surprising. Yes, it was THE highlight of my trip. I'm pretty sure it was the actual Disney Cast Member version of Jack given there was an official character handler. She was the one who actually took the pics.

I've never even seen him in all of the times I've been to DL and WDW. How lame.

This is only partially accurate. ;) The rule applies for all characters: if they are not "supposed" to be posing and signing autographs, they can be reprimanded for doing so. And, this does not apply to all situations.

He does make surprise appearances at the League (as mentioned above). When he comes through he stops and takes pictures with each family ALREADY i side. The doors are shut in order to make sure no one else enters.

Unfortunately, it does not occur daily, so it's more wishful thinking for rain! :)

Wow-- sounds like he's super hard to get a picture with! So happy we got ours during a Pirate & Princess Party in 2008. He was so great when our two-year-old ran up and gave him a big hug!!

We spotted him several times during our trip in January of last year outside the back gate to EPCOT by the International Gateway shop. Posing for pictures with anybody who happened to wander down that way. CMs were out as per usual with characters.

We didn't stop for photos since we have two sets from Pirate and Princess Parties that we went to, but he didn't have much of a line.

Nope, his show ends with him running away before any guests can approach.

I think we there the same week -- we refer to it as "Monsoon Week" (May 17-24th, I think) lol. Anyway, we were walking through the que to get on to POTC and he was walking out through the cue. He stopped for pictures with several people (our sons included). There was no handler with him and I'm assuming he was on his way out to start the show.

We were there in December, the week before Christmas, and after the Pirate Tutorial show he took pics with the kids he had brought on stage, including some teenage girls. I don't thnk he took pics with anyone just out in the crowd though. Im thinking of wearing a pirate costume to MNNSHP this year so hopefully I can get a pic with him.

That was the exact week I was there. I'm wondering if that was the moment I saw him stop because he stopped to pose for some boys and while there were CMs close by, he didn't have a handler. As I saw him, he was coming from PotC towards where Hook and Smee used to meet.

If it is the moment I saw him, that's quite coincidental! He may have had his show (I didn't stick around to see), but the CM that I heard had said that the ones earlier had been rained out, so I assumed the rest had been rained out.
