Captain EO

I know there will be lots of people who won't agree with me - but I've seen it once and i won't be going to see it again. The actual 3D film sequence was fine - but the pre-show bit went on forever - I was losing the will to live and seriously thinking about just walking out.

When you're very cold, very wet or very tired it's a chance to sit down.
The preshow is boring, but then so was the preshow to HISTA and still is in Armageddon.
We saw it last October, the boys probably wouldn't have agreed to go in but I was so ill last trip I just needed to sit down somewhere for a while.
Bare in mind how old it is, the effects aren't state of the art anymore and to be honest i can't even remember what the effects were, I wouldn't rush back and I wouldn't forgo another attraction for it if time is tight.
If you're a Michael Jackson fan though you'll love it :)

Agreed....the Kodak sponsored pre-show (which was also featured before the Honey I shrunk the audience show) is tedious and unnecessary.

However, if you're old enough to remember the 80's vibe (personally I wasn't a great fan at the time), then you you may enjoy EO....80's retro heaven!

I agree with you. I´ve seen it three weeks ago for the first time and I was dissapointed.

The movie was a sensation in the 80s, but now in my opinion it is boring and you can see better 3D effects at a normal movie at your local cinema nowadays.

Watch it because it is part of the Disney history but do not expect too much.

:thumbsup2

I saw it at WDW and I really didn't enjoy it. It seemed to go on forever and the whole thing was just... odd! :confused3

I agree with all the comments re. the pre-show. I was contemplating smacking myself with the 3-D glasses until I passed out throughout it :rolleyes1

However, the show itself I would say is worth seeing if you are a fan of vintage Disney or Michael Jackson. For me, I remember watching this show back at the birth of the DLP Park and being in awe of the 3-D! So just for a walk-down-memory-lane I HAVE to see this again...

Bear in mind it has only returned to the Disney parks in honour of Michael Jackson and it will be disappearing again within the next year or so... So for that reason alone, I would say definately go and see it to be a part of the history ;)

now if someone had been doing that when I was there, that would have entertained me far more than the Kodak pre-show :rotfl::rotfl:

Elaine this is generally why I'm not trusted to hold anything - boredom may take over and it ends badly... :lmao:

You should see me queuing for BTM, that's just a jump away from the river :rotfl:

As others have already said, it hasn't dated that well.

I personally love it because I'm a big MJ fan but I appreciate that many people wouldn't enjoy it that much.

I hate the Kodak pre-show. It doesn't seem as long as the HISTA one. Having paid a lot of money for a holiday, you shouldn't be forced to sit and watch an advert. I appreciate that they need extra revenue streams but there are better ways of doing it. I loved the France Telecom bit as you left IASW. It was subtle, well done and offered extra interactivity for kids. Shame they got rid of it, but that's the way sponsorship/advertising should be implemented.

My 12 year old Michael Jackson fan dd can't wait to see it! I hope she won't be too disappointed! There may well be some random guy beating himself up with the 3D glasses to entertain us during the pre show - we hope lol

I really don't think your DD will be disappointed by it at all... the show itself, although clearly dated, is still really fun to watch. I enjoy it...

:rotfl2: yeah, if you see somebody smacking themselves with the 3D glasses in the pre-show... come say hello!

Just to agree with most others here - it hasn't dated particularly well ;)

Having said that - it's worth seeing once to say you've seen it, as well as to see where the effects have come from... Plus - for me it's no better or worse than Honey I Shrunk the Audience which was starting to get fairly tired and in need of a replacement anyway in my opinion :thumbsup2

i will definately go see it (for the 1st time) especially as its a special comemorative attraction and has a limited run.
anyone think of a way to amuse yourself during the kodak ad?
it made me hate HISTA. every time you just thought it was over ooooh no there was more cheesy kodak stills to be seen.
