Just read this to.
It's such a shame they have some great areas that no longer get used.
Why shut this and do nothing at all ?that area will pretty much have nothing now.
Come on give us our Star Wars land!! it would be great there.
Captain EO much better in Epcot just because of the Americans shouting out for Michael COME ON MICHAEL YOU CAN DO IT, YEE HEE !!
Very funny:rotfl2:

Oh must go see it one last time next month so!
I won't be too upset to see it go but I just hope they don't bring HISTA back. I hated it! And the long Kodak preshow advert :crazy2:

Will be a pity as you said if it is left empty like much of the other show areas.

Maybe Disney will surprise us and have a new show in the theatre soon :goodvibes

surely this part of the park cant remain empty can it? just like woodys round up area?? such a shame. Must be a grand plan in the future for both places surely????

oj no!! do we know when in Feb its closing??
am there from the 3rd feb and hoping to see it one more time!!

What a shame! It wasn't my favorite show, but it's a loss. Closing and giving nothing instead.

I'm there at the end of feb and was hoping to see this as I missed it on my last trip :/

Thanks for the info.

It is not my favourite part of the park and I know that this kind of 3D show isn´t up to date but somehow I will miss Captain Eo.

So we will see him one last time at our next trip in January 2014.

:hippie:

It would be great to see something new in this theatre.

Why not Muppet 3d ??

It saddens me that the pessimist in me thinks that it will remain empty for the foreseeable future, but Captain EO was outdated when they brought it back, I've seen it twice but as a warm retreat in cold weather rather than a need to do and we didn't even consider going in last July. I much preferred HISTA but again it's dated and last time I saw it there were far too many effects missing or broken.

The optimist in me is hoping for a new show and I'd settle for Muppets or Philharmagic. As I've not seen either I'm interested to know if they actually "fit in" with Discoveryland ?

Could the building be utilised for Le Visionarium, gutted that we never got to experience this, missed it on our first trip and it had closed by our second one 6 months later, I wouldn't be disappointed if it made a comeback :)

Going to have to make sure we see this at DLP for last time when we go in Jan. When we saw it in March I think there were only about 20 other guests in the theatre with us.

The HISTA preshow?? Oh Kizzy the CEO preshow is pretty much up there, and once you've seen it, its sooooo long and dare I say it, boring. In August it took 30 mins before we got in to the actual show - and of course, woe betide you if you sit down o.0

I loved the kodak preshow! I also really enjoyed HISTA but it was getting quite dated!

I'd love to see a new show there but the realist in me thinks it will lay dormant for a while! I will be happy to be proved wrong though!

I think I much preferred HISTA to Captain EO, somehow Captain EO felt way more dated than HISTA to me!

Would welcome either Muppets or Philharmagic in place. I can't remember very much of Philharmagic (watched it a few years ago) but think I enjoyed it. Muppets was great too!

Philarmagic not at all, unfortunately.

MuppetVision 3D might fit a little bit, because it talks about an invention.

Exactly how I felt I know that HISTA was the replacement for CEO originally, so effects would have improved and I can accept that, but the whole MJ thing was just too kitsch for me. His death obviously brought his name back into the news and I can see it was too good an opportunity to pass up but the show is way past it's sell by date IMO.

I admit that Philharmagic doesn't really fit in Discoveryland but it is about a million times better than Captain EO.

Frankly, ANYTHING without the ghastly long Kodak pre-show advert would be an improvement. It is the only sit-down attraction in the Disneyland Park now though (unless you count the come and go as you like videos in Videopolis) so I really hope that something will happen there.
