Captain Cooks Substitutions

I am thinking of going to Captain Cook's at the Poly. and substituting my dessert or beverage for another side, like the dining plan says I can. Reading other reviews, some people said that place doesn't allow it, even when they asked to speak with a manager. Then I noticed some of the posts were several months old. Has anyone been to the Captain Cooks more recently and they allowed substitutions? Thanks in advance!

Yes my mom was able to get a fruit cup instead of dessert when we were there last month. Didn't even ask if it could be done, just did and no issue at the register. The fruit was one of the boxes in the frig section.
