I was really torn were to put this thread so if this is the wrong place I apologize.

I'm planning a very light day on my arrival day, a few hours at MK followed by dinner at Captain Cook's where I plan to watch HEA. I believe I read somewhere one can watch it from the outside seating area but I've looked at my favorite vloggers and sites and none of them have really done that so I'm doubting myself a little.

Is it possible to see the fireworks from Capt. Cook's? Or should I get my food to go and watch if from the beach area?

Hi there, I moved your post to the Resorts board since it’s mainly a resort (Poly) question. :-)

In my opinion the tables outside of Cap’t Cooks aren’t really an ideal place to watch MK fireworks. The Lava Pool/Volcano are, for the most part, in your line of sight. You may be able to see some depending on your angle/exact table position, but there are better viewing options around (in my humble opinion).

There is good viewing just to the “left” (if facing the castle) from the Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace. My personal preference would be to go down to the beach and watch from there. If you can, I’d eat at Cap’t Cooks before the show and just stroll down there when done. There are precious few loungers on the beach these days, so not really the best place to enjoy a meal unless you want to sit on the sand/picnic style.

Hope that helps!

I can't imagine you'd be able to see much of anything from Captain Cook's outside seating area. It's going to be too low and obscured by the pool. You might see some very high fireworks?

I was undecided between the restaurant and the strategy board, I see now I was wrong on both guesses! lol

Since the plan also includes having a dole whip, I might follow your plan. Eating a flatbread while walking isn't an easy task for me! I'll have my meal, stop by Pineapple Lanai and find a spot by the beach to watch the fireworks.

We had a pretty good view of fireworks from our seats the Dole Whip stand (the standalone one just as you exit the lobby toward the path to the beach). We had to slide our chairs over a little, but preferred having an actual chair as opposed to sitting on the beach.

How is the seating around there? What time you arrive approximately?

It is just a few patio-style tables and chairs. We got there areound 15 mins before the fireworks and nobody else was there, but that was an off-season trip so YMMV.

Sounds like a great plan to me. The Poly beach with fireworks and Dole Whip in hand is just about one of the best places in all of WDW.

Don’t forget the Electical Water Pageant either, if so inclined.

Have fun!

You can also stroll along the lake path between Poly & GF and have a nice view. Depending on which longhouse you are staying in you may have a good view from it. When we were in Tokelau we could just walk out to the outside beach end stairs and watch from the landing on our floor.

The seats at Capt. cooks are raised up compared to the pool I think you will be ok to see the fireworks but it will not be a great view as you will see the pool. If a person enjoyed the view from Dole whip stand which is set back at least 50 feet from Capt. Cooks by the back entrance to the Poly I would think you will be fine. Another option would be to take your food walk out make a left walk to the marina make a right and start walking up there are a few benches that will face the water.... be warned the ones with the best view in back of the boat rental house is a smoking section.
