You all asked for it and here it is. My name is Becky and I'm a carb-a-holic, but I am bound and determined to lose 75lbs by our cruise. Gonna get my magic back!

Hi Becky

I'm on the infamous SEAFOOD diet

I SEE FOOD and eat it.

My goal is 50 lbs by cruise time (already lost 10 :yay: )

I was quite depressed recently to be specifically labeled overweight. I've always been teased as being underweight. DH and I recently joined a gym and I took a Polar BodyAge assessment. I'm 31 and it said my body age is 39. It also had a graph indicating my body mass index squarely in the overweight category and my body composition (% of fat) nearly in the very high category.

So, I'm looking to loose 20-30 pounds, at least. Has anyone else done the Polar BodyAge assessment? They offer it on the cruise...

My current stats:
Biometrics Height - 5'5"
Biometrics Weight - 160 lbs
Biometrics Body Mass Index - 26.6 kg/m(squared) (Overweight)
Cardiovascular - Max VO2 - 29.0 ml/kg min(Low)
Bicep Strength - 42 lbs (Average)
Sit and Reach - 10.0 inches (Poor)
Body Composition - 33.9% fat (High)
Overal Fitness - 33.3% (Fair)

I'm working with a personal trainer for the next few months, so I hope this gets better. It doesn't hurt that he looks like Orlando Bloom. :lmao:

Howdy, my name is Debi and I'm a Choco-holic. I'm an elementary school lunch lady,so you know what my problem is....I'm around food All Blasted Day!

Like a lot of women I used to be nice and petite,I'm 5'3. Had some health issues a few years back, asthma,2 heart surgeries and was put on steroids. Gained 20lbs in 1 week. When I balooned from 102 to 186, I knew something had to give. I joined WW and lost 35lbs,quit going and of course, put it all back on and then some. Now, my doctor says that I'm borderline diabetic and on top of that I'm in full Menopause....yippee. I'm back to counting points and drinking gallons of water. Just have to get back to the meetings and off my butt!!!

I want to eventually lose 50lbs. :thumbsup2

I would be willing to commit to a lifetime membership if you get to keep the same trainer. ;)

Do we want to have a weekly weigh in and post our loss or gains on here? I usually weigh in on Monday and find out how good or bad I have been during the week.

Hi All,

My name is Lorri and I'm 38 years old. I've struggled on and off with weight issues my entire life - either too heavy or too thin.

Several years ago I went through a forced menopause and quit smoking - both of which messed up my metabolism. I was finally getting everything under control and had lost 50 lbs when one of my Dr's put me on some medicine that made me gain weight - so here I was going to the gym like a lunatic, practically eating nothing and gaining weight like crazy - I went to my other Dr. who took me off that one and put me on another. Within the first 4 weeks I lost 10lbs. That was back in Oct. I've lost a total of 20 now and still have another 15-20 to go.

I work with a personal trainer twice a week and go to our local Y at least two other times during the week. My goal is to wear a two piece bathing suit and look good in it.

I was underweight most of my life and was on diets to gain weight. I use to be able to eat a tray of brownies & whatever else I wanted...although those cravings came around every 4 weeks or so. I gained over 40 pounds with each pregnancy and lost it all by my 4 week check up just by living...never exercised. DD pushed my hips out so I had to move up from the size 4s to the 6s after she was born...but I was fine with that and stayed 125-130 at 5'5". Last year DH was gone 10 1/2 months from Sept 05 - 06 for graduate school internships & classes. The kids didn't adjust to it well and PTO stressed me to the limits. I stepped down from that after spring break & finished my commitments by early May. I started my freedom by finally starting to decorate the kid's rooms in Princess & Buzz space themes with stamps & stick ons for the wall...nothing strenuous at all. Tuesday morning I woke up feeling ready to face the world for the first time in a very long time. I had a great day! Wednesday morning I woke up & tried to get out of bed but had chest pains. This progressed to include all the classic symptoms for a heart attack in a woman. I dropped the kids off at school & went around the corner to my doctor's office where a parent I knew from the school got me in the back very quickly. They ran bloodwork, xrays, ekg and my heart was fine even though it was still getting worse. After a cardiocatscan & ultrasound that was totally cleared & it was diagnosed with a severe anxiety attack. Of course I stopped working out after this happened and it took 3 weeks to finish the testing. I resisted taking meds until August when I just couldn't handle it anymore. Between the stress and the meds I have put on 15 pounds. I have tried slimfast drinks and the meal bars but I haven't lost anything. I need to kick myself in the pants to get back to the Y so that I can change this.

Hi,

I'm Sooz, 32 years old. I've been overweight since I was 12. I've already lost 30 pounds with WW and Wish in the last 8 months, but have a LOOOONNNNGGGG way to go. I'm hoping to lose 75 more before the cruise. I too am a carb-a-holic. See bread and I eat it.:rolleyes1

OOh so where is this "Orlando Bloom" trainer? :cutie:

Ok wenches. I'm all for helping each other too.

Except I'm trying to do this by this August when we do the Med Repo. Then I have to keep it off, or maybe even drop some more for next August.

I've always had weight issues. Several years ago, sitting home alone on New Year's Eve, I finally decided to do something about it. I joined ediets.com and slowly took off 90lbs. I've kept most of it off except I have gained back 25lbs. So I'm hoping to at least take that 25lbs off, but more would be great.

I was even featured as a success story which you can find here
http://www.ediets.com/community/resources/succstories/SuccStories.cfm?cid=12&get_story=1

ediets has a lot of different plans to choose from and is very reasonable in price. What worked so well for me was that I didn't have to try and figure points or calories out. I selected my meals and the website provided me recipes and shopping lists.

I think I'm even going to walk away from the meet thread for a while so I can head over there and set up this week's menus and get my shopping list. Let's all get real serious on this and help each other out.

I too am a portly wench....

Hope to solve that shortly...

I'm having a type of gastric surgery on Thursday the 8th...

Don't give me the diet/exercise crap...Tried it and guess what...

if i don't starve myself and go to the gym EVERY day...nothing happens

So yes this is a last resort...

The worst part is that i probably can't return to my current gym classes (spinning and powerflex) for a couple months...I despise walking but that's probably all i'll be cleared for at first...

If i live through this i should lose between 70-80% of my excess weight within 12 months.. (most in the first 6 months)

We'll see...Wish me luck...

While you gals can have skinny cows on WW. I'll be stuck with pureed foods and liquids for a month.

I'll join, although for the time being my numbers will be going up. Thankfully not too much yet, though. At my 18 wk appt back in December I was up a total of 6 lbs but at my 22 wk appt. in Jan I'd lost 2 lbs, so +4 total. (I love the scale at my OB's office, much better to me than the one I have at home!)

Here's wishing you the Very Best! My manager had surgery a couple of years ago and is still doing very well.

Hi! I was gonna send the smiley wave but I can't fine him. :confused3 Must be the rum. Anyhoo another wench here serious about losing weight....this time! I'm doing weight watchers on my own & trying to make it to the gym a couple of times a week. I finally lost 2 lbs the other day, but after I ate that 17 point sandwich at Panera bread last night, I gained it right back. :sad1: DH tells me to stop obsessing & getting on the scale constantly but I can't help it. I used to be able to take weight off so easily & now at 43...it's so damn hard. I am even staying to the very low end of my daily points & it's not working. According to WW I should lose 50lbs, but I'd be really happy if I lost 30 and ecstatic if I lost 40!

This thread is a great idea! I hope with everyone's support, we can all reach our ultimate goal! Little black dress....here I come! pirate:

Lisa that is soooo scary! Are you feeling better on the meds? Heart attacks run in my family & my cholesterol is sky high so I'm getting scared. My doctor wants to put me on medicine but I'm really hoping I can smarten up & do it on my own.

I don't blame you a bit. If this diet doesn't work this time, I might have to seriously consider surgery. I told my DH that if I lose all the weight I want, I'm going for a lifestyle lift & a full body lift. No matter how much weight I lose or work outs I do, my skin will never go back into shape.

Is that a little TMI?

No offense but if they are calling you overweight at 5'5" & 160....I don't EVEN want to know what they have to say about me! :scared1:

So when we hear you've been at the gym...we'll know what you were really doing there! ;) :lmao:

A Brazillian vacation? Hmmmm do you think anyone will believe I've coughed up money for that AND a Panama Canal Cruise? :confused3 :rotfl:
