Cappuccino with dessert if we only have water with the meal?

I am assuming this would be covered as our beverage if we choose to order this way. (Logic tells me that since folks can order various smoothies, etc. that are on the expensive side that an expensive non-alcoholic coffee would be covered)

Not sure about the cappuccino, but I was able to have regular coffee with my dessert as my beverage on the DP. I had ordered an alcoholic beverage and water with my meal.

Regular coffee is what my DH orders as his beverage with most meals and would expect it to be refilled throughout the meal. He would not save that for the end with dessert and neither would I. I specifically would do this just for a "treat" kind of coffee beverage, like a flavored coffee or cappuccino.

Something like that is going to vary by restaurant. You might have to take that beverage as your dessert on the DP. That might be fine if the two of you share the one dessert!

Unless I wanted to toss and turn all night, unable to sleep ( I don't do decaf ), I chose to have 1 cup with my dessert. Our waitress would have refilled it as many times as I wanted. You don't have to "maximize" your coffee consumption to make the plan work. Just order what you want. Coffee, for me, is not thirst quenching. Coffee at the end of my meal WAS a treat. It was great coffee, and enhanced the chocolate perfectly.

I'm not sure how he pulled it off, but our wonderful waiter at Mama Melrose was able to bring me a latte after the meal and have it count toward the dining plan. This was on top of sodas during the meal and everyone ordering dessert (2 adults, 1 child).

Bumping this up to see if anyone has actually done this on a regular basis. (Not just had it happen as part of "Disney magic" freebie kind of stuff.) We have purchased seven adult and one child's meal plan and several of my older guys (coffee fanatics) would like to order this way. I was telling them that usually smoothies and non-alcoholic beverages can be ordered as your beverage so I didn't see why not. I just wanted to hear if anyone else has ever done it.
