Cap'n Jack's and DDP

Anyone been to Cap'n Jack's for dinner lately? How was the food and service? Do they accept ADR?

Last year I planned to dine there, but finally gave up due to some bad reviews and they did not accept ADRs. Also I read some reviews (again that was last year) saying it costs extra to add lobster tail to your entree.

We ate at Captain Jacks this last September and honestly the service was horrible . We all had the lobster tail, and it was kinda overdone too. We are skipping it this time around and eating someplace else.

We went in July and LOVED it-- in fact, it was our favorite place food-wise. My mother had the lobster tail (she really enjoyed it, by the way), and I don't believe it cost extra, though I'd call and ask in advance. The service for us was very good. The waitress was extremely friendly and gave me a birthday pin, and the waiter (because we took our dessert to go) left a birthday candle with our check. Though it wasn't the fastest service I've ever had, they were great about stopping by the table and seeing if we needed anything. The view was great too: we dined right as the sun was setting, and had a good view of the water.

And yes, they do accept ADRs.

We also went last September as our 20th anniversary meal and were really dissapointed. It was on the DDP but not worth it. We had eaten there 2 or 3 times previously and the food and service was much better. Don't think we will be back for a while.

We ate at Cap'n Jack's in October of 2007. The food was fine, the service was not that great and the waitress was annoying.

The waitress spent most of the meal complaining about the changes in the 2008 dining plan and how the servers would no longer make decent wages. How she felt that nobody would tip the right amount, and so on and so forth. She had to have spent at least 10 minutes at our table complaining and griping about the DDP.

We also felt rushed, having to place our whole order right away. In fact she asked for the whole order upon our sitting down and her taking our drink order!

I'm not rushing back there on my own, but if a member of our party wanted to go then I'd go without whining about it.

Gee I hate to say this: going against everyone else
Me and DW went last year on the free DDP even after hearing may bad reviews and guess what we thought the service was great, CM very freindly and attentive and the crab cake and twin lobsters fantastic, & great seats overlooking the bay.
We are coming back this Sept on the bounce back and tought of maybe doing this place twice. Going this June and already have ADR's
Maybe we just aren't as picky especially when it's free.

I guess you will have to make a judgement call to go or not.
