I have searched and searched and could not find an answer. Hoping my fellow DISers can help me out.

Does anyone know, or has anyone been successful, using their Capital One Venture Rewards points to buy APs? We have quite a few points built up and would like to use them to buy APs now for our trip in 2014.

From the credit card online, click ExploreRewards.
I have no idea if Disney is one of the stores. BUT you can use the Purchase Eraser for ANY travel purchase. So if you buy from Disney and use the points to credit back what you pay.

So you spent $20 at Disney in December. You can click that and use 2000 points and then you get a $20 statement credit.

If you spend $600 charged by Disney, you can erase that with 60,000 points and get a $600 statement credit.

Thanks for the quick answer. I am aware of everything you mentioned. What I am not clear on is whether the charge from Disney would be classified as travel. Only certain charges from certain vendors qualify as travel according to Capital One.

I had charges for resort, card swiped in park, and DCL. All were on my list of available purchases to erase.

Thanks Green Tea.

Anyone else maybe seen the park tix actually on the purchase eraser list?

I have the Capital One No Hassle Miles Rewards Card with purchase eraser and never thought of using it for Disney tickets! I wonder if that would work? We need to find someone who knows about this!

I have a feeling it will but am looking for someone who's done it. Surely one my fellow DISers has tried.

Anything I've ever put on the room and paid for with my Venture card has been covered. Annual pass should work!

Thanks. Maybe I should have state that we want to buy the APs now. They will not be part of the room charge. In fact we just want to buy the vouchers now and activate them in 2014. Helps to avoid next years price increase.

The APs will be charged on their own from the Disney website.

The charges will appear on your statement as coming from WDW Ticketing. I don't know if this qualifies as travel. If it were thru WDTC, Expedia, an airline or other standard travel company, it would.

Have you tried calling Capital One to see whether it will qualify as a travel purchase?

Capital One was no help. They told me as long a the merchant was classified travel I would be able to use the purchase eraser.

Now that I know the merchant maybe I'll call them back.
