How is the food there? Which is better, breakfast or dinner? Are they both character meals? Which characters are there?

We love both & have been going to Cape May for both meals on our last couple trips (& will again in May.) :)

At Breakfast you can see Goofy, Minnie, Chip & Dale & they have a great breakfast buffet with eggs, bacon, Mickey waffles, hash browns, Krispy Kreme Donuts, cereals, pastries, bagels & much more. The food here is always really good & it is a bit less hectic than some of the other character meals that we like to do.

We've been eating dinner at Cape May at least once a year since 2000. We've never had a bad meal here & even brought my parents here for the first time in January - my Dad enjoyed it more than anywhere else we ate that week. There are no characters at dinner - it is set up like a clambake - lots of great food & a dessert bar if you have room left! :teeth:

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, that dessert bar! Actually the stuff on the kids bar is good also!

We've never eaten there for dinner but we LOVED the breakfast! It was soooo good and the character interaction was great :)

Cape May breakfast is a CB, food is OK, service is OK. Regretfully it used to be the best CB at WDW, and it's slipped--A LOT!

Cape May Clam Bake dinner is pretty good, think Red Lobster quality, it's NOT Legal Seafoods or even McCormick and Schmicks. But for the money if you like seafood it's a decent meal at a good price. Oh--no charactres.

I agree with Anne completely about the dinner.

And about the breakfast, I'm so sad to hear Anne's opinion! We haven't done the Cape May CB in a couple of years but we have always loved it the best of any of them. I'm sorry to hear the quality has gone down. Anne, is it anything in particular?

We love the dinner, in fact its our first stop when we get in. Not character at dinner. Only breakfast

We have loved our dinners there, and we can't stand Red Lobster. The difference must have been the Oreo Bon Bons. pirate:

When you say "clambake" I think of piles of mussels, clams,oysters... :crazy2: I'm from the deep south. Catfish I know. Shrimp I know. Does Cape May have any "normal" seafood or is it all piles of black & white shells in various states of steam? Can someone with an impaired immune system eat here safely?

Say, that looks pretty good! We have family members who don't eat any fish, other than fish sticks, but they would love the ribs and stuff. I'm not too much for mussels myself, but I could go for some fish du jour. Thanks!

Just wanted to add in responsed to the seafood questions - I hate all seafood. I don't eat any fish, shrimp, clams, etc. - have never liked any of it. However, I love the rest of the food options here & it gives my hubby a chance to get some seafood. They usually have some great chicken & ribs w/bbq sauce, rigatoni, mashed potatoes, veggies, salad bar, etc. I eat more than enough & I don't ever touch the seafood side of the buffet. There are 4 sides & I believe only 1 has seafood items - so definitely not all seafood. HTH! :)

Thanks for your input. Never been and thought it would be nice to try. Not a mussel eater, but liked the other items they had on the menu.
