How is the dinner buffet @ Cape May? Are there characters @ the dinner, what are the food choices and is it good? If anyone has any pics 2 share, I would appreciate it. Thanks :goodvibes

The buffet is mainly a seafood buffet. Dinner is best known for crab legs. There are other food choices also if you do not like seafood. We enjoy the dinner. It's one thing my kids always ask to do. There are no characters at dinner, only breakfast.

We really enjoyed it. Like pp stated no characters but the food was really good. Crab legs were freshly steamed each time we went up and the ribs were quite tasty as well. Sorry, no pictures beause I never think about it until my food is gone.

Hi. No characters at dinner, just at breakfast. The menu is varied, but with more seafood items than at other WDW buffets. So while there are ribs, pizza, veggies (corn on the cob, mashed potatoes, cabbage), salads, chicken, and a carved meat, there is also snow crab legs, steamed clams, steamed mussels and other items, some of which vary by day (M W Sat - Fried Shrimp; Tues Thurs fried calamari; Sun Fri Fried Cod). And of course desserts.

Click on my Feb link and you will see pics of every single item on the buffet.

This is DH's favorite because he loves littleneck clams and crab legs. There are tons of non seafood items on the buffet and the ribs are out of this world. The roasted chicken is very good and I love the cornbread and yeast rolls. Excellent salads too...the Oreo Bon Bons alone are worth the visit!

To answer your first question: A little underwhelming. I had relatively high expectations, though, and was a bit disappointed in the food quality of the non-seafood items and the clam chowder.

We went there for the first time in 2009. We had no ADR but were able to get seated quickly (they gave us a buzzer and told us 45-60 minutes and we had a table in about 10 minutes). I was pleasantly surprised. Nice service, good selection of food. Unlike the poster above, I loved the clam chowder. I didn't think the desserts were great, just OK. All in all it was a good experience and while I don't consider it a "must do", I would definitely go back and use a dining credit there. Like most food at Disney, particularly the buffets, if you are paying OOP it may seem pretty overpriced but for a dining credit it is a good option.
