Cape May Clam Bake Favorites?

We went last week and were pleased with the quality of the food. We ate at 8:40 and the food was refreshed a couple of times while we were there. My mom loved the crab legs (I just thought they were ok) Fried shrimp was delicious. Would go back again.

I just posted my reveiw of the Cape May from my trip report- last page. Here are some of the pictures.

The following descriptions are from the DIS Restaurant Board Site. The pictures are mine:

The Cape May Cafe is a bright, airy buffet restaurant. The decor is reflective of the beach theme. The outer rim is ringed with colorful canvas beach umbrellas.

Cape May Cafe New England Clam Bake Dinner: Unlike the usual buffet set-up, this restaurant features a central island where the selections are displayed. There are large steam trays that are continuously filled with snow crab legs, clams and mussels. These popular items are always available hot and freshly prepared.

The restaurant, and the food, did not disappoint! And this endorsement comes from a lifelong New Englander!

The restaurant recently introduced a new dessert, warm lava cakes which are made almost to order. People have raved about them, but I thought they were just ok.

The Oreo Bon-Bons, though, I enjoyed a lot more this year. This photo is from the Concierge Lounge, I didn’t get a good picture of them from the buffet.

this is a great buffet, both my kids filled up on the adult food and it is a non issue, that is why the buffets are so great, a nice change from PB&J and chicken nuggets for the kids.
the last pp pics having made my mind up that we will definitly be returning.
hands down, the oreo bonbon is way,way better dessert than the zebra dome, and I love boma.

thanks for the great photos......we are going there next year and now I look forward to it. We too are New Englanders and know our clams and seafood...I am now anxious.......thanks again for the great photos

Thanks for all the endorsements and the pics. I have definitely made up my mind to go. I was waffling between Cape May and Tutto Italia, but I can see that we will get more for our money at Cape May. I was just worried that there wouldn't be enough for my non seafood eating 11 year old, but I can now see that there's plenty. :thumbsup2

Cape May is one of our top 2 or 3 favorite places at WDW. The biggest problem with Cape May is that word has gotten out just how good it is. We never had a problem getting an ADR for any time we wanted one and could even just walk up and be seated, and this includes during free dining periods. However I tried to change the time of our ADR for trip last week and the entire week was booked up, not a single opening until just before we left and then it was just a couple different openings for the whole week. Oh well, hopefully with it being so po;ular now, Disney won't change things.
