I am trying to narrow down my dinner ADR choices. One of them is Cape May Cafe Clam Bake. It really doesn't look like they have much seafood on the allears menu. Is there any other seafood other than this served?

Farm Raised Clams with Garlic Butter
Prince Edward Island Sound Mussels with Roasted Tomato Butter
Seasonal Fish du Jour
Steamed Peel & Eat Shrimp

I was honestly incredibly disappointed with this meal. As a Jersey girl, who has dined in Cape May and many places up and down the Jersey Shore, this food was clearly buffet food. There wasn't a huge selection when it came to shellfish or really seafood in general and the quality was low.

Nope, that's about it as far as seafood. We've gone the last two years. We really liked it the first year we went; last year we were very disappointed (the shrimp was terrible and the other offerings were often bland and boring). Did love the dessert bar both times though.

We ate here on Monday night and it was incredibly disappointing. We had eaten here several times previously and enjoyed it but hadn't been back in about 5 years. It was not the same quality of food as on previous trips, IMHO. It was the only meal of our 8 day trip that I honestly thought wasn't good. The service, however, was ok.

The steamed shrimp is no longer part of the hot servings. It is cold salad bar peal and eat shrimp. No spices. This was a major disappointment for us. We are scheduled to eat there in August, and I'm really thinking of cancelling it--we have a party of 11, but for 6 of us, we ate there again in May and were not at all pleased.

I ate there 5 years ago and it was horrible. The shrimp was amaller then my fingernail of my pinky and they had veins still in them, of course they were to small to even think of deveining them myself. that is what sticks in my head but everything else was horrible to. I know good seafood, I live in Mass, I would NEVER EVER Eat there again.
OH BTW I didn complain to the management because the waitress too note that we just picked and that wasnt much more then a 2 yr old could of ate so then gave use the meal ( if you want tot call it that) for the kids price whch BTW was to much. :scared1:

I was at the Beach Club this week and ask the hostess if I could look at the buffet. It looked small and unappetizing to me. The seafood selection was paltry. When I hear "clam bake" I have conjured in my mind a picture of a cornucopia buffet. It looked like a Shoney's dinner buffet with two small buckets of clams and mussels thrown on the side. I would save my money and go someplace else if you want seafood.

It doesn't matter to me. As long as they have the mussels and the clams, this is a good choice for me. One buffet where I out eat my husband every single time. Had to actually be asked by family members to stop eating so we could leave!

And I *think* they have other things there too. Not quite sure. Oh yeah - potatoes and corn. That's my meal when I'm there.

But that's one thing with having a "clam bake". No one else in my entire family would ever eat what I eat. Some people really like these types of things and lots of people don't.

My family happens to love Cape May. I hear such mixed reviews, but then again that is with any restaurant. I just had to decide whether I should try it myself. I did and I was pleasantly surprised over the last few trips. We are eating there this upcoming trip and I am hoping it lives up to what we've gotten the other times ;)

We were thinking of eating dinner here on our next trip...is there another 1 TS credit restaurant that has great seafood? Thanks.

We go the clambake every trip. While it is not GREATseafood, I love being able to eat clams, albeit small ones, and mussels to my hearts content. The shrimp is on the salad selection area and is cold but they are not small. There is plenty of other food as well. I noticed that the corn on the cob this past January was great and they has fantastic talapia there that night. So I eat plenty of seafoood as well as other foods. I like the mashed potatoes as well as the little boiled potatoes they have, macroni and cheese, chicken fingers, little hot dogs, carved beef and much much more.

I can tell you that plenty of people like this bufett. It is always very busy.:cloud9:

I'm a little nervous now!!! Will be going here for the first time in Aug. I hate to hear these bad reviews, but we will still try it.....

If you go with low expectations on the seafood selection and quaility you will be ok. Think "Old Country Buffet does a clam bake".

Dessert is great though!

Also there is a seafood macroni salad that I really enjoyed. I would go and try the place and make your own decision. This place can get really busy so there are plenty of people who like it;) I was there in January and the food was fresh, hot, abundant and terrific. We went a second time that week and it was equally good. We also ate at the Coral Reef for lunch and ordered lobster salad and lobster bisque and it was disgusting. We ate at Narcossees and while we have enjoyed our meals there in the past including the scallops, the lobster was dry and tough the night we were there and ordered it. Sometimes the restaurants are off and people have different opinions so take the reviews with a grain of salt:)

Simply put, our worst dining experience ever in WDW. DS, who normally eats anything thought it was "nasty".

I know there are always going to be a lot of opinions when it comes to the restaurants. We ate there on our last trip in Nov 2006 and it was OK - not my favorite, but OK. DS loved it and he ate about 5 big bowls of clams. It is the only restaurant that we're repeating for this trip. It'll be interesting to see what it's like. But, I do worry when I read lots of bad reviews, especially, from people who've been there recently.

I still say you need to try places for yourself. I almost missed out on some of my best meals when I read reviews here (Le Chefs) and I heard great things before I went to Tony's and it was one of my worst meals ( same with Coral Reef). Then WCC had decent reviews and I didn;t like it, gave it another shot and loved it. YOU NEVER KNOW!
