Hi - I was wondering if anyone can take the boat from MK to Fort Wilderness? Even if we are staying offsite? I was thinking it might be fun to go to Trail's End one day for lunch when we were at MK? Just a break for the kids from all the crowds?

If I can take the boat, where does it leave from at MK?

Thanks so much!

Yes! DH and I always make a special trip to FW on each trip, whether we are staying onsite or off. All of the WDW buses and boats are there for you to use. Technically, it's supposed to be for anyone who has a WDW park pass, but I have never, ever been asked to show it.
I don't know the age of your kids, but if you are thinking of going to Trails End for lunch, consider renting one of the little speed boats. Oh my, they are SO much fun! We did this with my DGDs last year and they talk about that more than what they did in the parks!

After you leave the MK, just walk toward the lake - the docks are between the ramp to the monorail (which will be on your right) and the area the resort buses arrive and depart (on your left). As yo approach the lake, look at the signs and you will quickly see where the boat to Ft. Wilderness docks.

Best wishes-
