Anybody know what comes on the nachoes at Cantina San Angel?

What kind of cheese, meat, veggies, does it have beans, sour cream, salsa, guacamole?

And most important: are they good, in your opinion?

We're thinking of a margarita break and always in the mood for yummy nachoes! :sunny:

Uh oh I cant remember everything that was on it but I do remember they were good. We had two orders and drinks as we ate earlier at our resort because we were starving but love St Angel and wanted to keep our reservation. I do remember it having chorizo (sp?) that mexican sausage and real melted cheese not that sauce, I think we ordered it without beans as my family doesnt like them, I honestly cant remember if guacomole and sour cream was on them but I know you can ask for it if you like.. They are very good..

OOps just realizes you were asking about the Cantina not the TS! So sorry!

Ew, the nachos at the cantina are NOT good. They are a step lower than Taco Bell, IMO. We got them as we were drinking/eating our way around and couldn't finish them. Should have gone for the churro's instead!!

It's Tostitos, canned melted cheese (like from Sams), ground beef (of sorts), I think some beans and sour cream were piled on there too. And jalepenos because we had to pick them off. No other veggies that I remember, no guac that I remember, or salsa though I'm sure they have that available.

I've heard (like the OP attested to) that the San Angel table service has good nachos but the Cantina were not good IMO... very processed...

This is what the menu says about the nachos...

Cantina Nachos - tortilla chips, beef, cheese, tomatoes, jalapeno peppers, sour cream, black refried beans $6.99

Just got back and my daughter ordered them. She was disappointed. The Tostitos were good, but she didnt like the beans and quacamole on her dish...I think she was expecting just nachos and cheese...
I tasted them...they weren't bad, put not any better than some carnival nachos.

I just love these threads, all the different people who like different stuff. We order the nachos each time we go and we love them. My kids and husband included. We are eating here again in September and plan to get nachos again! Happy eating :cool1:

:rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: I laugh because I "read" what you mean! I have been reading these threads for a while now, but never posted until today, so hello :wave2: But it seems that what is a discussion board or opinion board sometimes becomes (what I like is right and if you don't then OH MY GOSH) or (Im right and your worng)! We all have an opinion and and every right to type it down. If we all thought the same we would look like this :dance3: .I think we just need to realize that everyone's different and that's what makes us all unique.

To the OP, As for the nachos we liked them as well. I think the best suggestion would be when you go check them out and if they look OK to you give them a try only you will know if they're for you. We also like the Wet Buritto with our margaritas.

Oh oh oh! I have a solution!!!

Drink a few margaritas first... then it won't matter. :teeth:

I love the drink a margarita or two idea! Hi "Stuck in Wonderland"! I know what you mean. Sometimes it can get a little nasty on these boards. I just laugh because one person loves what another hates. Thats what makes the world go around. We like San Angel and I have read a lot of people who don't. Neat to see so many different reports. Here's Happy Margarita Drinking to us all! :rotfl:

I loove the nachos here! I ate them more than once last trip, and the setting with the tables right near the water is so nice and relaxing. I plan to get them again really soon :thumbsup2

Nachos are not exactly great, but compared to what they call churros I would choose nachos any day of the month.

But I grew up in East LA with great "panaderias" on every other block.

Anytime we start talking about our upcoming trip, my DS(11) has to start pestering me about the nachos at the cantina... I keep reassuring him that he will get his nachos, but somehow he must not believe me! He LOVES them! (I did manage to sneak a taste last time, and they tasted good to me too... lots of "stuff" on them!)

there was cheese, beans, peppers & sour cream on them at the cantina & personally i didnt like them at all.
