Can't use SW Ding due to Windows 2000-How can I still get these deals?

I can't download SW's Ding program as we have Windows 2000 here at home. I know some people are posting deals that come up. Would I be able to get a discounted fare, if one is posted for my airport, if it comes up? Would I have to call SW? Or does the discounted fare come up only for those signed up for Ding? How long are these fares usually go for?

I'm in the same situation at work. I think you need to book them through the special Ding web site. I tried calling SW last night on one and the rep told me she had no access other than through the regular SWa web site.

I think if someone could post the web url for a particular day, we could probably access it.

If you look on FlyerTalk you can find the fix so that it works in Windows 2000. You need to add a file to your computer.

It only shows up for those who signed up for it. No, you cannot get the fare unless you have signed up for ding. The time frame is just a few hours.

I tried this on one of my W2K systems and at first it didn't work. The I checked a setting on my firewall and it started to work, so there is hope yet. Lets see what happens tomorrow.

Thanks safetymom for the link to flyertalk. They walked me through and now I have the Ding at work even though I've got Windows 2000.....now for the deal I've been waiting for! lol
