Starting off the cast of characters for this trip:
Mom - brings the DVC to the table, not a rider, enjoys the little things.
Dad - a ride fan but can't really do all of them anymore for health reasons, semi-picky eater, not so good at relaxing.
Brother - 12 years old...that might be enough said, also a picky eater (nothing fancy!), and not a rider
our puppies - they will be staying at the MK kennel and we will be seeing them to walk and feed them, with a possible longer outing at the Fort Wilderness park area.
and Me - turning 23 on this trip - adventurous eater, rider, and drinker! I will be sampling many cocktails on this trip
We're doing a split stay this trip, a first for us, at Saratoga Springs...and AKL concierge (Jambo House)! 23-26 is SSR, and 26-29 is AKL CL. We are also driving down since it only takes us about 2.5 hours.
I've never done a planning or trip report before and decided since this will be a longer stay than I usually do I would try it out. I think I would especially like to do a dining trip report, and maybe even a live one if I can get the internet to work on my laptop at the resorts (have had trouble in the past).
Tentatively the schedule will be as follows:
23 - DTD when we first arrive to get some lunch and look around, grocery shopping, dropping the puppies off at the kennel, dinner to be cooked/eaten in room, then pool/pool bar
24 - MK day- Columbia HH or Cosmic Rays (some CS restaurant) for lunch, then the Wave for dinner...that lamb shank looks pretty good
25 - MK/Epcot - Tony's (lunch), sunshine seasons for dinner (although I reaaaalllly want fish and chips from the Yorkshire County Chip Shop
...)
26 - MGM (which is what it will always be to me!) - Spoodles -so lucky we got there in time to still be able to have ressies there.
27 - Spend the day at the AKL (I really want to try out that pool...and the pool bar
) , shutters at CB maybe or maybe another restaurant at one of the hotels, or even just eating in the concierge lounge.
28 - We booked the Sunshine safari for this morning (my bday), water park (not sure as to BB or TL yet), maybe some mingolf? and....Ohana for dinner! We have 8:10 pm ressies so I told everyone they had to eat slow enough that I could see Wishes, also looking forward to the Lapu Lapu.
29 - check out day
hang out at DTD and maybe eat at WPE before we leave.
I should probably mention that we never eat breakfast in the parks since we always have a Villa. We just stock up on breakfast things when shopping at Publix or Whole Foods. We also want to try to incorporate eating at some off property restaurants to save some money, but we're not sure yet if we are actually going to cancel any of our ADRs.
Oh and I plan to get the birthday fun card to spend to my little hearts content!
If anybody has any itinerary suggestions I would definitely be open to them! Sometimes its hard to keep the magic alive when you go so often, and I always like to try to find things or places to see or do that I haven't ever or just haven't done in a long time.
