Can't Think of a Better Way to Celebrate 5 Years!~A May 2015 PTR!-Update 5/16-New TR Link!

Magic Kingdom Must Do's!

Hi everyone! So before I start the Magic Kingdom portion of this update, let me just update you about a few minor things first.

I made a few more ADR's...I ended up going with Boma for breakfast, which I was most likely going to do anyway, but there wasn't really a good time available for Tusker House on the day we're going to AK, so Boma it is! I also made one for Raglan Road, which we'll be doing the night we move over to Port Orleans, so we can take the boat, I'm going to try to avoid Downtown Disney (or is it Disney Springs now? Who knows!) until we're at POR, because I don't want to drive there and deal with parking. It's ridiculous.

Last but not least, I made a kind of impulsive breakfast ADR at Crystal Palace! I just happened to be looking and I saw it so I grabbed it. I'm not sure if I'll keep it, but it's nice to know I have it!

Now I just have to find a place for Beaches and Cream and Sanaa and I'm all set!

Next, only 4 WEEKS until my trip!!!! :tigger::maleficen:ccat::hmghost::simba: I'm obviously excited, but I'm also mad at myself. I told myself I'd lose weight for this trip, because I'm tired of feeling like the fat girl at Disney. I had how many months to accomplish this? And oh look, down to the last month. I was doing SO GOOD for a while, I was tracking every little thing in My Fitness Pal, I was exercising, I lost a few pounds...then I got comfortable, and stopped tracking and gained everything back that I lost. It's just SO hard for me to keep weight off if I'm not constantly tracking every single thing that I eat. I also stopped drinking soda, which I thought would help...well, apparently not! I haven't had one drop of soda for 6 WEEKS! It's not like I was some soda addict, but I did drink it, and trying not to when you really want some Dr. Pepper is hard. I don't bother with diet soda, I know some people like it, but to me, it's pointless. Remember Fat Monica on Friends and her issue with light mayo? Well that's me with diet soda, haha!

Anyway, my point is, I'm happy my trip is so soon, but I'm also mad because as of now, I've lost no weight, and realistically, how much can I lose in 4 weeks? Maybe 10 pounds if I REALLY try hard? I mean, 10 pounds would be great, but since it's been such a struggle so far, who knows if it will happen? I guess all I can do is try, I mean, if anything, at least I'll be in better shape to walk around the parks, right?

Well anyway, let's move on to my Magic Kingdom must do's!

IMG_5671.jpg

I LOVE the Magic Kingdom, but I guess that goes without saying, right? I mean, you can't go to Disney World and not love the Magic Kingdom, it IS Disney World. There is just so much to do there, and so much to see, and so many characters, you could never possibly be bored in the Magic Kingdom.

The first thing I have to do there is...

P1000446.jpg

See the opening show, of course! I love it, I love how it just gets you ready for the day at the Magic Kindom.

At some point, we'll go on the Mine Train.

seven-dwarfs-2-600.jpg

I'm not sure if I'll try to go on at rope drop, or if I'll just wait for an FP, but I'd like to go on it more than once. It's so cute, but I just wish it was a little longer!

We also have to go on Peter Pan's flight, which I will try for once the park opens, hopefully the line won't be 30 minutes by the time we walk over there!

peter-pan.jpg

Gotta go on Splash Mountain, I'll probably do that on the way out of the park, just in case I get soaked!

IMG_0585.jpg

Can't go to the Magic Kingdom and not go on Haunted Mansion!

IMG_0569.jpg

And then I'll HAVE to go on the Peoplemover about 50 times, because it's my favorite thing in the Magic Kingdom, I'm obsessed! I love the sounds of Tomorrowland, and the Peoplemover is the perfect place to just relax and listen to everything going on around you!

P1010586.jpg

As for parades, I have to see Festival of Fantasy. I've never been a huge afternoon parade person, but this parade changes all of that!

IMG_0276.jpg

And then at night, of course I will have to see Celebrate the Magic and Wishes! Probably multiple times!

IMG_0455.jpg

IMG_3161.jpg

I know I've been including a snack in all of my Must Do's, and honestly, MK just has way too many to narrow down to one, but I would love a citrus swirl at some point!

Citrus-Swirl1-344x525.jpg

I also love getting churros in MK, ice cream, pretzels, cake pops, cotton candy...oh, and of course Starbucks! Oh, and something from Sleepy Hollow, I would love to try one of those waffle sandwiches.

One last thing I'm excited to see in MK is the new hub area!

Hub-construction-ALR-1.jpg

(I actually have concerns about this area, haha, but I'm going to keep them to myself, so let's just say I'm excited to see it, it looks beautiful! Let's just hope it looks as pretty as this picture and not what I'm imagining in my mind! :rotfl:)

I'm sure we'll go on Space Mountain, Pirates, the Little Mermaid, Winnie the Pooh, see Philharmagic, and a bunch of other things that I'm forgetting right now! I'm sure I'll spend a lot of time in New Fantasyland in Belle's little village area, because I love it so much! :lovestruc I don't know, am I leaving anything major out here?

Up next...my favorite Disney park, Epcot must do's!!! :jumping1:

(All pictures used in this update are mine or borrowed from google images!)

To answer your question about TIW you can get it at any Guest Relations at any park. I believe you can also get it at the normal ticket windows.

Don't get discouraged with your weight loss. Something I did that helped me is I stopped centering my weight loss goals around vacations. I used to do it all the time! I would go "I want to lose this much by this vacation", and I failed every single time. No joke, every time. So instead, I said this is life and now this is how I eat. I know you can do it! Don't get discouraged.

Good on you not drinking soda! It's just healthier. Not centered around weight loss, it's just healthier I think. You'll do great! Just keep on keeping on.

The food better be edible at HW&V, at least LoL ;)

But then and set them in a special place or special wallet. That way they're all in one place, easy acess.

We went to Le cellier years ago, but once on honeymoon, and other when ry was too little to care about the food LoL

I'm nervous about the new hub area, but fingers crossed its not too bad.

I see some more great plans...getting excited for you!! I too am a real Peoplemover lover even though most of my family thinks it's lame lol. I just love relaxing and looking at everything...and going through Space Mountain...because I'm too much of a chicken to actually go on that lol. You have so many fun things planned!! Try to not sweat the losing weight thing...I feel your pain. It is a constant battle for so many of us. I would just try to eat as sensibly as you can right now and try to not obsess over it...I know, easier said than done! But you will have an amazing time at Disney no matter what.

I plan to see the opening show for the first time this trip and I'm REALLY excited about it! :yay: We caught the end of it last time, but otherwise we've always been in the park at an early ADR.

I'm right there with you on the afternoon parade - I've always skipped it, but I don't think that will be possible with Festival of Fantasy! So many people seem to love it that I need to check it out!

I'm glad to hear you're a fan of citrus swirls! It's on my "must try" list this time, as I wasn't enamored with the Dole Whip. (I know, practically Disney sacrilege...)

WISHES!!! Wishes is my favorite nighttime show in WDW, so I totally agree with seeing it multiple times! :thumbsup2

I need to do a post like this about MK soon. You're getting me excited for everything! :goodvibes Totally with you on loving the Peoplemover! And, also, I guess I've got to pay attention because I know nothing about this new Hub. Never heard of it until your update.

Next, only 4 WEEKS until my trip!!!! :tigger::maleficen:ccat::hmghost::simba:
It will be here before we know it!!!!!!!!!!!!!:hyper:

I don't bother with diet soda,
Good because artificial sugar actually makes you crave more sugar.

Also don't get deciscouraged! Don't focus on weight loss just focus on getting healthier and building endurance for Disney.

I guess all I can do is try, I mean, if anything, at least I'll be in better shape to walk around the parks, right?
::yes:: it's such an engizing feeling being able to do more than you used to.

See the opening show, of course! I love it, I love how it just gets you ready for the day at the Magic Kindom
I have yet to see it buts also a must do.

And then I'll HAVE to go on the Peoplemover about 50 times, because it's my favorite thing in the Magic Kingdom,
oh yes!!!!I feel the same!!!

Hello! I love that what your doing with the ptr..the "must do's" for each park...its really cool!
I'm curious about the new hub area as well..we will all be anxiously awaiting you TR for info!!!
Don't worry about the weight loss..it is a daily struggle....I try to concentrate on just increasing my walking stamina....then I don't feel as tired at the end of the day..
Great plans so far!
Happy Easter!!!!!

And then I'll HAVE to go on the Peoplemover about 50 times, because it's my favorite thing in the Magic Kingdom, I'm obsessed! I love the sounds of Tomorrowland, and the Peoplemover is the perfect place to just relax and listen to everything going on around you!

Oh, I hear ya there!!! I am SO obsessed with the Peoplemover myself... I just want to ride it around repeatedly, all day long if it's not too much to ask!!!

Your must-dos all look great and that shot from the Peoplemover of the castle?! OMG. Just incredible. If that was one of your pictures, :worship: to you!

Don't be too hard on yourself about the weight. Sometimes the pressure we put on ourselves makes our body and mind do the opposite of what we want them to do! :sad2: Just focus on getting excited for your trip and any exercise you can get in before now and then will be prep for walking around the parks! :thumbsup2

Oh Jen - I can't lose weight anymore to save my life so I know how you feel. It's so frustrating. I, like you, have to track every single thing if I have any hope at all.

So you have 4 weeks to go - How about trying to walk 10,000 steps a day until you leave. I was watching a program during one of my night shifts when I couldn't sleep and this guy talked about it as a way to lose weight. I am very intrigued. Apparently 10,000 steps a day can lead to weight lose and improved fitness. I know on the days I run I reach that, but I have no idea on other days. And he recommends just simply using an old fashioned pedometer. If nothing else you will definitely be more in shape for Disney.

I love your plans and your pictures are great. It's going to be a great trip!

I saw the new hub - but it was at night, so that was a bummer. I did like how they had a bunch of CM's out to position people for the fireworks. It was much more organized.

I feel like I haven't commented in forever! I am excited to hear all about your ideas for each park...especially since we are going in a little less than 10 weeks!! I cannot wait for my MK days. I am so excited for Splash, HM, and Peoplemover!! I am very intrigued by the new hub too. When we were there in October, there were walls up everywhere, so I am excited to see most of them down!! I am debating on an early breakfast at Crystal Palace with my DD! We aren't huge Pooh fans, but I have always wanted to try the puffed French toast, and have early entry into the park! So we will see if I can find an ADR :)

As for your weight loss, I feel you. As my trips grow closer, I struggle with always feeling like I am going to be that fat girl at Disney! I always say I am going to lose weight, but then I never do. We have a little over 2 months left before we go, and I have done nothing. I had minor surgery a month ago, and I thought it would be an easy recovery, but it hasn't and it is stressing me out even more!! But even if you don't lose weight, you are still a beautiful person and you will have a blast!! :) Just keep on trying and you will eventually get to your goal! Cutting out pop is a huge step in the right direction, and something I just recently did as well. I do have to admit that I feel better since I am drinking so much water!! :) I am going to keep trucking along as well, and hopefully I will feel ok when we leave in June!!

Love that you added some ADR's and your must-do's at MK. Our trips are getting so close.

After a rather long hiatus from the DIS Boards, I am back and of course I had to follow along on your PTR. I am in serious Disney withdraw. I mean, I go into the Disney Store and geek out because it makes me feel like I'm in a gift shop in Disney World. LOL!

Hey Jen! :wave2:

I hope everything is still on track for your trip, which now must be two weeks away. Looking forward to a new update! ::yes::

Thanks! I probably will get the TiW card, we have a lot of ADR's and I think it makes sense! Did you have something here about not using it at the H&V Jedi Mickey's thing or did I dream that? :rotfl:

I know, I do need to stop doing that, but it's hard when you are like "oh the next trip I take, I'm going to be skinny" and then the next trip is 2 weeks away and you're fatter than ever. Uggghhhhh.

I did drink soda the other day, but I had a horrible migraine, and I drank it for the caffeine. I rarely even think about soda anymore, it's crazy!

Haha, I hope!

Oh yeah, I'm supposed to be looking into gift cards, haha! I keep forgetting!

I can't wait to see the new area, I just hope it's nice...I have a bad feeling lol!

Thanks! OMG I love the Peoplemover! I was trying to explain it's awesomeness to 2 people I work with who are going to Disney and it sounds like it's lame, but it's not! :rotfl2: Well, since my trip is 2 weeks away, I'm clearly not going to lose any significant amount of weight, now I'm just going to focus on walking every day and getting myself ready to be walking 100 miles a day haha! I'm going to really start focusing on losing when I get home from Disney, to try now is pointless! :confused3 Thanks for the encouragement! :thumbsup2

I plan to see the opening show for the first time this trip and I'm REALLY excited about it! :yay: We caught the end of it last time, but otherwise we've always been in the park at an early ADR.

WISHES!!! Wishes is my favorite nighttime show in WDW, so I totally agree with seeing it multiple times! :thumbsup2

I love the opening show, it just gets you so excited for Magic Kingdom!

FoF is SOOOOO awesome! I can't wait to see it again!

I like the dole whip, but I'm just not a huge pineapple fan to begin with, so I like the citrus swirl much better. It's like a creamsicle, it's so good!

Wishes is the best! I can't wait to see it!

I need to do a post like this about MK soon. You're getting me excited for everything! :goodvibes Totally with you on loving the Peoplemover! And, also, I guess I've got to pay attention because I know nothing about this new Hub. Never heard of it until your update.

Yay, ahhh, I have to read your PTR! You'll see why I've been away this past week in my next update...it's always something! :scared1:
The Peoplemover is the best! I could stay on it for hours! Haha, I'm surprised you didn't hear about the new hub grass, everyone was freaking out about it a few weeks ago!

It will be here before we know it!!!!!!!!!!!!!:hyper:

Good because artificial sugar actually makes you crave more sugar.

Also don't get deciscouraged! Don't focus on weight loss just focus on getting healthier and building endurance for Disney.

oh yes!!!!I feel the same!!!
Yay, I know!!!

That's what I've heard, which is weird...I guess any kind of sugar, fake or real, makes you want more sugar. It's awful.

Thanks, that's pretty much what I'm doing now, since I only have 2 weeks left!

You have to see the opening show, it's so fun!

Lots of Peoplemover fans here, yay! :bounce:

Hello! I love that what your doing with the ptr..the "must do's" for each park...its really cool!

Happy Easter!!!!!

Thanks!

I feel like I'm going to walk into MK and not know where I am, haha! The pictures I've seen look weird!

Thanks! That's what I'm going to do, just walk every day and try to walk more and more until the trip is here!

Thanks! Happy belated Easter!

Oh, I hear ya there!!! I am SO obsessed with the Peoplemover myself... I just want to ride it around repeatedly, all day long if it's not too much to ask!!!

I know, I've always wanted to stay on the Peoplemover a few times, since I've heard of people doing that, but I've never asked, I'm too afraid!

Thanks! I think it was one of my pictures, I always try to get good shots from the Peoplemover, and sometimes they're awful because well, it's moving! But once in a while they come out nice! :thumbsup2

Thanks, I'm trying! I went for a nice long walk today and I'm planning to do that every day until we leave so hopefully a few pounds will come off, and I'll be ready for all the walking we will be doing!

I saw the new hub - but it was at night, so that was a bummer. I did like how they had a bunch of CM's out to position people for the fireworks. It was much more organized.

I've always had such a hard time losing weight, I have to write every single thing down, or forget it! That's why I liked weight watchers, but I've heard you're basically starving yourself on WW, so I don't know if I should try it again...my fitness pal is nice, but once you realize how much you can eat and lose weight, you start slacking, it's hard to do it for months at a time.

I've heard 10,000 steps helps you lose weight! The days I'm at work it's really hard to get even to 3000 steps because I sit all day, but when I'm not at work, I walk around much more. That's a good idea though, maybe I should try for that...

Thanks! I can't wait!

I think I have a Wishes FP, so we'll see how that goes!

I feel like I haven't commented in forever! I am excited to hear all about your ideas for each park...especially since we are going in a little less than 10 weeks!! I cannot wait for my MK days. Haha, OMG I feel the same way! It's so hard. And recovering from surgery must make it 10x worse. Don't worry, we'll both get there someday!

See everyone says you feel better not drinking soda...I don't feel any difference! I've just gotten to the point where I don't crave it anymore, but I don't physically feel any different! :rotfl2:

Love that you added some ADR's and your must-do's at MK. Our trips are getting so close.

I think I've added a few more since this last update...of course! :rotfl:

I know, I'm so excited!!!!

After a rather long hiatus from the DIS Boards, I am back and of course I had to follow along on your PTR. I am in serious Disney withdraw. I mean, I go into the Disney Store and geek out because it makes me feel like I'm in a gift shop in Disney World. LOL!

Wow, heyyyy!!! Glad to see you back! Haha, I know what you mean, I do the same thing with the Disney Store! :rotfl:

Hey Jen! :wave2:

I hope everything is still on track for your trip, which now must be two weeks away. Looking forward to a new update! ::yes::

Hi! Yep, everything is on track, just counting down the days! I'm going to do any update right now!

Epcot Must Do's!

Hi everyone! I'm sorry I didn't get to do an update last week! I had computer issues, it's been at the Apple Store all week, and I finally got it back last night! Something happened with the hard drive, and they had to replace it, who knows, but I'm just glad it was fixable and we didn't have to buy a whole new computer! It figures, I was doing pretty good keeping up with the DIS, and everyone's TR's, and now I'm almost 2 weeks behind again. :crazy2:

So 2 weeks until my trip!!! I'm so excited, it seems like it's so close, but still, there's such a long way to go! I'm still figuring out ADR's, of course, those are never actually settled until we're there, and even then, we always keep messing with them. Brandon informed me that there's no way we're skipping Le Cellier on this trip, so I have to find somewhere to squeeze that in, and I still don't know where to put Sanaa and Beaches and Cream, so that will be interesting! One of the ADR's I have is probably going to have to go, and my guess would be Yachtsman. I don't want to get rid of it, but there's no way I'm doing 3 signatures in one trip, and that would be a good spot to stick Sanaa in, so we'll see. He never lets me leave out Le Cellier. I should have just kept my mouth shut, haha!

Well, anyway, if you guys know me at all, you know that Epcot is my FAVORITE park in the entire world!

IMG_5726.jpg~original

So of course, I have a lot of must do's! I guess I can start with the most obvious, Spaceship Earth! There's just something about going inside the actual icon of the park and having it be a ride. And I just love the soundtrack! Epcot music is probably my favorite thing in life. The entrance music has been my ringtone for years!

P1000224.jpg

Can the Fountain of Nations be a must do? Even though it doesn't do anything? Because I love it. I love just standing there and feeling the mist and listening, once again, to the Epcot music and just taking it all in. I know that sounds stupid, but it's really one of my favorite places in Epcot!

Seeing as much of the Flower and Garden Festival as possible!

P1020297.jpg

That picture is a few years old, but I just love how they theme all of the topiaries to each country, it's so cute! I'm excited to see all of the new ones this year!

Sunsets in the World Showcase

P1020503.jpg

People love the sunsets and the golden hour in MK, but I don't know, to me, nothing is better than an Epcot sunset!

Margaritas!!!

P1010131.jpg

Nothing more to say about that, right? OMG that's seriously the first thing I'm doing when I get there, running to Mexico and getting a margarita! YUM!

SOARIN'!!!!

Soarin_Sign_Epcot_Center-Soarin___Epcot-20000000001665318-500x375_zps9059028a.jpg

I don't know if this or Tower of Terror is my favorite Disney ride, I'd say I like them equally. I LOVE Soarin'. LOVE it so much, that music and the orange and pine scents, and just looking at beautiful California, I don't know, it's just perfect to me. :lovestruc

Illuuuuuuminations!

IMG_1213.jpg

I'm just as obsessed with Illuminations as I am with Wishes. I always hear people talk about how they should replace it with World of Color, and I'm sorry, are they insane? Illuminations is so perfectly Epcot, and not everything in Disneyland needs to be in WDW, they're 2 different places for a reason! If they want to update Illuminations that would be ok with me, but they cannot change the music!! (See what I mean? I'm obsessed with all Epcot music!) This is another thing I have to see multiple times or my trip is just not complete!

I actually have 2 must do snacks in Epcot, one of them is...

Cronut-400x250.jpg

The infamous cronut! If you haven't tried this, make sure you do the next time you're in Epcot. Seriously one of the best things in the world, I'm not a huge donut fan, but this isn't a donut anyway. It's a cronut. And it's amazing. :cool1:

And of course, Disney popcorn!

Disney-Popcorn.jpg

I have been known to get this in other parks, but there's nothing better than watching Illuminations eating Disney popcorn! Again, I'm not like, a huge popcorn fan in life, but there's something about Disney popcorn, it's addictive. It's a good thing I don't live there, I'd be eating popcorn and margaritas and cronuts every day of my life! :rotfl:

Other things I have to do in Epcot are of course, exploring the World Showcase, Test Track, Living with the Land, Figment. I'd like to do the Universe of Energy if there's time, I am not sure if I've ever done it, and if I have, I have no memory of it. It's just sooo long! Basically though, my favorite thing about Epcot is just being there. I could seriously just wander around and not do anything and be perfectly happy. I love this park so much, we always spend multiple days here, so I'm looking forward to being back in 2 weeks!

That's it for my must do's in each park! I think for my next update, I'll tell you about my FP+ selections, update you on any ADR changes, and probably just a few random updates here and there. Don't be surprised if there are a couple of me just freaking out that we're going so soon. It hasn't really hit me that we're actually going in 2 weeks, so once it does, I'm probably really going to freak out! And I will slowly but surely be getting caught up on everyone's PTR's/TR's as soon as possible, now that I have a functioning computer again!

Up next...Fast Pass fun!
