Can't stress this enough - ICE WATER IS FREE AT WDW!!!

Any type of counter service or cart that serves drinks (not a cart that just sells them by the bottle) can serve up the ice water. If they serve drinks in cups, they serve ice water. That's what I meant in my original post.

okay thanks....I guess I never noticed carts that sell drinks in a cup ~ just the ones that sell bottled water/soda.

We just got back a few days ago and used the tip about asking for ice water several times. We didn't want to carry bottles around in the parks and every place we asked for water the CM's were nice as could be about it so I guess this is something they are asked about a lot. The water tasted great, too...no "off taste" at all. It sure was nice knowing we could get a really cold glass of water whenever we needed it.

Could you see Where the water came from,
a tap or the soda machine?
Do you think it is filtered??
:confused3

Yes, I was able to see and all that we got came from soda machines. I don't know if that water is filtered but it did not have any bad taste at all. :thumbsup2

I have been using their "free" water for a few years now. Some places taste disgusting and some taste ok. I know electric umbrella was really bad but I am cheap and needed water. Anyway, you can bring those single use ice tea/lemonade packs (and now I see there is fruit punch) that you buy at grocery store, walmart, target and put that in the water. Still saves a bunch of money.

Just got back. Ugh...I'm such a wimp. I couldn't stand the taste of the water! I tried my hardest to drink it, but just couldn't. Even the ice in the fountain drinks was icky. We stuck with bottled water. (Definitely a great tip though if you can stand the taste!):)

Go up to any shop/cart/whatever that looks like they can serve drinks and a cup of ice water is always FREE!!

Can't stress this enough. We just came back from our trip (4/25-5/2) and never paid for nice, cold ice water anywhere. Just asked for 4 cups of ice water and they gave them to us no questions asked.

I know this has been posted before, but usually it's buried in threads on other topics. Can't tell you how many people I saw buying bottled water ($2) when all you had to do was ask for a cup of ice water.

ok , I must really be out of it... so bare with me...but
where do they get their water then... not from the same source (where the water is suppose to be so icky !!) ??

The bottled water is 20oz bottles of Dasani water. They are $2 or one snack credit. You can get free tap water. That is what tastes icky. (In my opinion, of course.)

I had no problems with the taste, either from a fountain or getting them at a counter. It all tasted fine to me.

As others have stated many times, it all depends on the "taste" of the water you have at home. Disney water tastes no different from what I get in Pittsburgh.

We're on the DDP, with our CS lunches we all get bottled water (you'll get the jumbo sized water bottles on the plan). As the water gets warmer throughout the day, I'll ask for cups of ice and just pour the bottled water into the cups.

I bring take and toss cups. You can find them at WalMart in the baby section. They have lids and Disney designs. Some lids are sippy style and some have straws. I've had no problem getting those filled with ice.

On our last trip to Disney we stayed at Pop. The trip before we stayed at Movies. While at Movies we filled our water bottles with ice and water to take to the parks. (Now I know I don't have to do that since we can just ask for cups of water...) The water was great and I was patting myself on the back for all the money we saved. However, when we stayed at Pop, we tried to do the same thing and hated the water. I could hardly gag it down. The taste was so pronounced that I don't think it was my imagination. Are there different flavors of water at different locations?

4) Haven't you read in the news about how kids are getting more tooth decay because they drink too much bottled water instead of tap with flouride and other minerals?... Sorry, my dad is a dentist. :)

LOL That made me laugh! In my area in north central Florida, my friend (a dental student) says our city must be anti Dentist due to the high fluoride content in it ... "What are they trying to do, keep us out of business?!"

Personally, I think dentists are great - but our tap water is lousy! I drink bottled to keep the dentists busy - yes, I love dentists that much! :rotfl2:

But is it filtered water? Some tap water in Disney is nasty and I don't blame folks for forking over the money for a bottled water.

Some!!? I have yet to find water out of at tap or drinking fountain that is drinkable there!:sad2:
We bring our Brita water bottles and we are even able to drink out of the drinking fountains.
Maybe I'm just spoiled by my yummy tap water, here in the Northwest!:rotfl:

Wow! You learn something new every day...

I must admit I like to drink on the move so carrying a bottle is good for me, but I think I might go down the route of getting a sports filter bottle and then fill up with ice water/fountain water/ice when it runs low.

The amount I've spent on bottled water... :sad2:

We take propell and lemonade water bottle packet and put them in the free ice water. Its great if your sick of plain water!!!
