Can't modify a reservation online

I wanted to modify a current resort reservation I have and it says I must call to modify or cancel. Is there a problem with the website? I'm really hoping this is just a temporary problem with the website and not a permanent change?

Well, this probably won't be of help but... it IS the Disney website. It's notorious for not working properly most of the time, so it could very well be a glitch.

Is the reservation you're trying to modify a room only or a package? I've heard, in the past, that you can't modify a package reservation online, only a room only one. I don't know how accurate that is, but I've heard it more than once.

I've seen this since the morning, too! I'm just hoping it's a temp glitch - it would be far less efficient for them to implement 'call-to-cancel' as a permanent change.

It's a room only and for a reservation in May so I know it's not because of the time frame.

I really hope this gets fixed soon. It'll be so annoying to have to call to modify. I don't want to be on hold forever and I like switching my resorts around a lot

Ever since they rolled out this option I have never been able to use it. I have always had to call. And I've tried it every time (6 trips). :badpc:
 
The change reservation on the website only works for me sporadically. I have 2 room only reservations - one for DH and I , one for DS's and I wanted to change the resort. The online change function worked for one reservation but not the other:confused3
 
We've actually had pretty good luck with the online modify/cancel functions for our packages the last few times. For our trip in March, however, we have a ticketless package with dining because I bought discounted tickets from Disney in the spring. The only online option I have is to cancel.
 
I haven't had any luck with modifying online. Always have to call & am on hold for approx 45 min o_O
 
I have been able to modify all of my reservations - room only - online. It's so convenient and has allowed me to grab some great discounts even if I have a room already booked - I'm sure if I had to call a month ago to book the discounted GF room that popped up for my already reserved GF stay at the beginning of December it would have disappeared before I got a CM on the phone.

This was a lifesaver 10 days ago with Irma. We made the final decision to modify our plans only 2 days before we were set to arrive, but I was able to change online and without any penalties. I had to move my trip from that weekend to this past weekend and was able to get a AP discount room for 2 of my 3 nights at a different resort and had to add a new reservation for 1 night at an AP rate to piece the stay together. I would have had to wait on the phone for hours to even get a CM on the phone and then piecing it together while on the phone would have taken forever. Then 2 days later, I changed the 2-night reservation again because a CL room in the resort I had booked opened up at the AP-rate.

I have a couple of reservations in the next few months - and I have the option to change all of them online.

It's a shame it doesn't work for everyone - it's a great option!!
