In the important threads link at the top of the forums you will find a "how to reload vmk framework" link. try that out.

important threads, sticky at the top of the forum.

2nd post. technical info:

reloading vmk framework

Okay, when I try that link all I get is and adobe shockwave logo ( with the installation bar already complete) which stays on for a few seconds then it goes to a smaller completely black screen in the upper left quarter of the screen.I've tried a few times every time it does the same thing and a few times it has sent a this program is not responding message and made me restart IE-any idea what to try next or is there another way to reload the framework,i am not having any other trouble on this computer-thanks

Sorry to hear about your problems, not really tech savvy here but have you tried using a different browser like Mozilla Firefox. I use that for VMK instead of IE.

i downloaded firefox browser and when I get to vmk it won't let me sign on when I click on the sign on button it doesn't do anything,it says at the bottom left transfering data from disney it said that for about 2 hours before I finally turned it off-I've got high speed internet I can't imagine that it takes that long -or is that normal anyone know? Thanks!

I seriously have a huge feeling im wrong but oh well it's worth a try. Possibly your video card is out of date and cant withstane the large power of vmk? (LOL) im sorry I was never good Computers. Good Luck though.

Try uninstalling shockwave (not repair) and then installing shockwave again..
Do you have the updated version of IE/Firefox?

Sorry for showing up late to this party. Monkeys do have to sleep. :)

It sounds like you are having a very similar problem that I had a week ago. No matter what browser you use, the problem persists. That to me tells me that you have a damaged [cct] file. [cct] files are "Cast" files used in macromedia Director.

What we need to do is locate these files and delete them. Don't worry, when vmk loads the next time, it downloads the new and fresh ones automatically.

On my computer my .cct files are located in:
C:\Documents and Settings\Kurt\Local Settings\Temp

The "Kurt" part is my username, so yours should be different. You need to go to this directory and look for any files that end with .cct and delete them. [Example file: mp0.cct]

Another way of accomplishing this is to Click on Start, Search, Files and Folders and search for files like *.cct . (Make sure you include hidden files and folders in your search) You can delete them from the results screen.

This will almost definitely solve your problem.

Additionally, it seems that you responded to a thread and told a user (correctly) to clear her cookies and temporary internet files. My problem (exactly like yours) happened almost immediately after I did this. Quite odd I say. Could you by any chance have cleared your temporary internet files right before this problem started? I'm trying to track this issue down, repeat it, and let VMK know about it.

Wow I have 6905 .cct files.. Are there supposed to be that many? XD

Yes, there are many thousands of these files. They are basically images and code for every item, room, etc from VMK.

After you delete them, you will notice that when you reload VMK the next time, every single thing in VMK will need to be reloaded (spinning, or those blue boxes). This is a good thing.

I could only find one .cct file. Thx

If you have only found 1 .cct file, then my guess is that they are in a different folder or that you have not enabled your search to look in "hidden files and folders" as well.

Computers store files in many different places depending on the operating system and settings. The location for the .cct files I gave is based on my Windows XP box. If you have Vista, lord knows where those files are. :) Use the search button, because there are literally thousands of the .cct files sitting on your pc if you have successfully loaded VMK in the past.

I found almost 32,000 .cct files, deleated them all,no luck yet, I tried firefox, opera, and IE-this just came on out of the blue,I don't remember if it was right after I deleted my cookies and temp.files but I do tht often so chances are that it was-anything else you can think of-I really appreciate it,I can't wait to get on vmk again! Thanks

I know this sounds like a bunch of dribble, but could you reboot your computer now and let me know if vmk magically works?
