We received new DCL Magic Bands they won't link, wont accept the ID number.
Any ideas how to get to the right person to help us get it resolved?
We've tried customer service numbers,, no help.
Any help would be so appreciated.

They will definitely help you connect them at port. We had issues on our last cruise getting my mom and dad's bands to connect (mine was just fine). They were able to fix whatever the issue was.

When I open my DCL app and tap on DisneyBand+ I get a message telling me I’ll be able to link my band once I’m on board. No way to even try to link it now. However, we don’t sail until January 2026, so….

I set up our bands and customized them yesterday on the Disney World app. The cruise app gave me the same message as stated above. Maybe that just means they’ll need to connect when on the ship.

You should be able link to the account, pair to your phone and download any updates through the parks app.

(I ordered through the cruise app which sent me to the cruise website, so the bands were already linked and showing on our account).

I was originally looking to turn off the vibrations but maybe we’ll try it out, first. I just ended up changing the light up color themes :)

And I’ll probably check back right before our cruise for possible new updates. Then we’ll see if anything else needs to be done with them once onboard.

Hope that helps!

Mine is already linked to the WDW app because I bought it via a resort reservation. I looked at the DisneyLAND app, and it’s not there. So I think they link automatically to the account you buy them through, but you have to link them separately to the other apps - even though your login is the same, they must not talk to each other.

We brought MB+s we already own and they linked them to our account at check-in at the port. After that, we were able to connect them in the app. Loved having those to open doors and charge stuff and not having to worry about the key card.

Step 1 (Optional): Link them in My Disney Experience as if you were going to use them at Walt Disney World, even if you're never going to use them at Walt Disney World.

Step 2 (Mandatory): Activate them for this particular sailing with a DCL rep when you check in at the port.

Important to note, you can only have 1 DisneyBand+ active at a time, versus MagicBand+ in the parks which you could swap out every 15 minutes if you wanted to.

I wanted to come back and address this by saying yes, definitely turn your band back on and check for updates and also charge it again before you sail. I turned mine on a few days ago, about 2 months after originally setting it up, and there was an update, plus the charge needed to be topped off, which took longer than an hour. So I have a reminder in my phone to repeat the process a few days before embarkation.
