can't help but wonder...CSR upgrade?

anyone ever upgraded at CSR? Staying for the first time and looking forward to the resort... thinking of upgrading, but may not for our short trip... maybe i'll get lucky...
are there suites in all three sections? We haven't asked for any specific area... it all looks great!

by the way what is standard view at CSR? It all looks so lovely in the pics... is there a chance we'll be overlooking a work area? We won't be in the room much , but dh is a view person... I like the look of the ranchos, but everyone says it is so far out away from main bldg... any area will really work for our family... just glad to be there...

Many of the rooms at CSR are waterview rooms so it is common to get an upgrade to a waterview room. Once we rec'd a corner room which had 2 windows but since we are not in our rooms much, it didn't make a difference. Location is the key rather than upgrade.

we will have a rental car ... which area is best for parking and going back and forth to the car? I have no idea and have never heard anyone specify which areas are closest to the parking...
anyone?

The casitas and ranchos seem closer to the parking lots but the cabanas are too far. Depends if you are on the lake side or not.

First of all, I think you will love CSR. When we have stayed there, we have requested rooms near the parking lot(and we always end up in Casitas). This is especially nice when, at the end of a long day, you park your car, and walk a short distance to your room. The trek to El Centro will be a little farther, but we go to and from the auto more frequently than we do the main building.

Our extended family stayed at CSR this past April over springbreak. We were all upgraded to 3 waterview rooms from 3 standard rooms even though it was peak season. The resort was very pretty and I thought that the amentities were similar to a deluxe resort as long as you don't mind having two full size beds in a room.
