Can't have sunset Pointe!

I am sooooooooo upset - we had planned on Sunset Pointe ... it was exactly what I wanted but I spoke to coordinator today and she said they have now stopped allowing weddings between march and october at Sunset Pointe due to the heat !!!

I wonder if it has to do with the cake in the heat. I've heard that in the summer they don't set it up until after the ceramony so it's not 'melting'. That's soo sad, they keep adding more and more restrictions to Sunset Pointe. I wonder if they're soon going to stop offering it all together. That would be a shame. I'm sooo sorry you can't have your dream.

I am assuming its as of next year Kim - ring to put your mind at rest though. i spoke to them today. She said its safety of the bride as its just too hot for full wedding attire - I am so saddd!

For our wedding on Saturday (at the Yacht Club), they didn't get the cake out until right when it was time to cut it. Then they took it away immediately after the cake cutting. I don't think there is a place close enough to Sunset Point for them to store the cake and it was 95 degrees on Saturday so they definitely needed a cold place nearby! We didn't even really notice though, too occupied with the whole just being married thing!

It is awfully hot during those times, could you maybe change your date? I know it must stink when you have your heart set on something - what about an Epcot location- I will say that I got back Tuesday night and the flowers for the Flower/Garden Festival made it beautiful! I will never understand why they do not just leave it that way all the time. I love it!

We were actually after an early wedding and I would of taken a cooler for the cake LOL!

I'm so sorry! We had our wedding there on April 25th at 1:00. It was beautiful weather, in the 90's, very sunny and we thought very pleasant. We were in wedding attire and never broke a sweat. Maybe we were too excited to sweat! The cake also did fine, no melting. I hope you find an equally perfect location for your wedding.

I wonder if by some chance they'll offer another site for intimate weddings. It's just a shame to reduce the venue sites by one without introducing an alternative site.

It is so sad. I got a light dress because I knew it was going to be so hot! But my poor brother. He wants to wear his dress blues! At least my Fiance is a firefighter parametic if any one passes out!

Are they making you change your location this close to the date???? or is this taking place in '07??

They aren't making me change my location. Disney hasn't said anything too me about no Sunset Pointe. I read it on here. And there is no way I am going to change my location. It is too perfect for us. I have less than 2 months to go!! I can't wait!!!

I wonder if they will add the AK lodge. It is a custom location at the moment, i think it is similar to the WL.

Last I had head they had stopped doing wedding at AKL all together - apparently the animals added a 'special smell' to the ceremoney.
