Can't get a hold of member services busy. Maybe someone here can answer a question for me

i have friends on the fantasy who was going to stay on my points Saturday night. Now they won't be using it. I was going to head down to wdw on Sunday but now I might fly tomorrow or Friday just to make sure I'm there. I will like to use the room Saturday night or most likely cancel it and book another resort that has three days in a row. What will happen if I cancel the room this late online?
 
Don't cancel online. If you do, the points will go into holding and then could only be used for a new reservation made 60 days or less from the check-in date.

If you call MS, they are waiving the cancellation penalty due to Irma.

Thanks. I want to use the points for myself this week. So I should be good. I want to talk to member services but I can't.always busy
 
I would send an e-mail now with what you want to try and do and keep trying to call.
 

I just got off the phone with MS to cancel a reservation for 9/12-9/14. We live on the east coast of Florida and are preparing for IRMA. My reservation was cancelled but she put the points in holding. She said she would send a memo to Admin and the points "should be" returned to current year points within a week.
 
Yes also told points would go into holding temporary until they can be processes back to where they came from.
 
Yeah we had to cancel a one night res for Friday this morning due to return airline issues. On the member site under the "tropical weather update" it states:

If you used Vacation Points to make reservations at a Disney Vacation Club Resort, then your reservation can be canceled online. Once canceled, please email Member Services to have your Vacation Points removed from the holding account. Be sure to include the following information in your email

  • Your name
  • Reservation number
  • Description of your request
Member Services will make the necessary adjustments within 4 weeks. For all other types of reservations, please call

So, we cancelled and emailed. We'll see how it goes. For 20 points I'm not that worried about being able to use them by June. We have the luxury of a flexible schedule.

ETA: I cancelled this morning around 9 I guess. Immediately following I'm sure I saw the points in holding, which makes sense. I just checked and they now show as available June 2017 points. Wow, pretty quick. Nice!

I just cancelled my one night stay for Sunday night on the DVC website. The points went straight back into my account...not into holding. I guess they're being so deluged with cancellations, they've done the sensible thing and just rubber stamped it all the way through.
 
My points are still in holding. I cancelled Wednesday after dcl cancelled our cruise the night before.
