So I'm going back and forth between a Moderate hotel ( Port Orleans) or value ( All Star Music).

Do you think It's crazy to book both?

I'm still researching the actual full cost ( we want to do the Christmas party) and we'll probably want to add on a nice dinner here plus it's way to early to book flights. flights are going to cost somewhere between $300 - $550. I think if we can get cheaper flights and cost for dinners are less than I think I think we can swing the moderate which I think we'll enjoy more.

Looking for thoughts on booking both.

Pamela

Depends on if you plan on a resort day or not. If you are going to spend a day or a few afternoon evenings at the resort then book a moderate, if not then I’d save the money. Also, booking both and then deciding on the one you want is not crazy- just don’t keep tied up until the very last day to cancel. Once you book flights and decide then cancel the reservation you don’t need. I booked on site and offsite and held it for a couple of weeks while I decided where we would stay (in that case we decided 60 day fast passes beat the savings offsite over Memorial Day weekend)...

Have you considered a split stay? We stayed two nights at ASMo and then moved to Port Orleans Riverside for five nights. I found the whole process to be pretty easy and the morning we moved we still made our PPO BOG ADR.

Thanks - This is most likely a once and done trip for us ( We normally do Disneyland every year). My gut is telling me my friends would really be WOWed by Port Orleans or Caribbean beach. I stayed at Port Orleans 15 years ago and I still remember the walk from our room to the bus stop- -so beautiful and peaceful. VS All Star Music which would just be a room/resort that wouldn't impress.

I don't think a half and half will work for us. We are only there for 7 days and we have a tendency to "move" into the hotel room so we'll only want to pack up once to go home.

And Yes I wouldn't wait to the last minute to cancel - I just need to figure out the actual cost of flights, Christmas party ticket, and if there are any special meals or shows we need to pay extra for.

I would pick Port Orleans. Christmas time is going to be crowded, Port Orleans has a more lay back feel to it. If you get overwhelmed by the crowds, I think Port Orleans can calm you better than the All Stars could. Plus you have the boat ride to Disney Springs.

We decided to go with all stars music. The price was just to good to pass up. We’d rather spend the extra $800 per room and spend it on something else like illuminations dinner package or a nice dinner somewhere.

Good choice! I haven't stayed at Music yet - stayed at Movies in December. Noise was an issue at Movies. Wouldn't deter me from staying there again but I'd request a third floor, far corner room to minimize the noise.

Thanks - Our first request is rooms close together I'll put in the 2nd request for a high floor

Also, maybe when discounts become available, you'll be able to reconsider. Just something to think about.

Yep. I'm still waiting for costco's deals to come through for December. If we can swing it for a little extra I'll upgrade us.
