Can't decide whether or not to squeeze Disney parks in

We are staying at HRH for the first week of April. We have been to WDW twice before, but this is our first trip to Universal, and we have the 5 consecutive-day passes. I'm trying to decide if we should try to fit a couple of days of disney in too.

What I'm afraid of is that there won't be enough at Universal to keep us going for a full week. Will we be bored? The first day is a wash because of the flight schedule, and I don't mind the idea of a rest day at the end. I'm just worried that there won't be enough at 2 parks to keep us busy for 5 days.

The other factor of adding in Disney is the cost. Being Canadian, a 2 day pass (and not even being able to hop from park to park), will cost us $700 Cn. (for 4 of us).

I'd love to hear opinions from seasoned Universal visitors!

Wejust did a 14 day trip, and 12 of those days were Universal/IOA.

We never set foot in a Disney park, and my kids didn't ask!

We did the five park flex ticket, so we did all the parks associated with that, so that was a great bargain for us.

You could do Seaworld, and get the second day free.
But we had lots to do, and loved it.

It just goes down to , not doing a commando style park. Yes, get there early, but leave around one. Take your time, enjoy it, people watch, walk around Citywalk, see if you can watch TV production.. we got tickets for a Beat the Clock taping, and that was fun, and very educational... my kids still talk about remember when we watched them make a TV show?

Go to every show.. you will have a blast

I would keep Universal and Disney as separate trips, not do both. I know lots of people who do both, but for my family we like to immerse ourselves in the experience and combining the two places during one trip is overwhelming for us.
My kids, then 9 and 15, were not bored even after a week, because we saw every show, went into every store, took our time and enjoyed the small things. We spent a whole day at the hotel which was great, we went to Sea World.
If you take your time and soak up the atmosphere, a week is not too long.

I agree with Aisling and Cindy B. We were there at the end of March and begining of April. We spent 4 days at Disney, 1 at Sea world, 1 at Discovery Cove 2and1/2 at Universal and had 4 days in between for down time. That being said, we are going back at Christmas for 6 nights and only going (and staying) to Universal. We just felt we missed too much and really want to enjoy the parks and have time to relax by the pools, not to mention time to enjoy all the great restaurants. I am toying with the idea of a Disney character breakfast, but that would be it as far as Disney goes.
