We are planning on staying at the new HGVC on I-Drive next April
for 9 nights in a 1-bdrm. villa. The rate at Marriott's Cypress Harbour is just slightly higher for a 2-bdrm. There will only be myself, DH, DS who is 15, and our DS who is 18 might be able to join us for 3 nights. His college break is in March, not April.
I was leaning towards the HGVC beacuse it is new, but Cypress Harbour is a larger villa. Also, we stayed at the Grande Vista two years ago, and loved it. The 2-bdrm. was huge and very nice! We like to stay at different places each time we go to Orlando. We do plan on staying at the resort a couple of days to relax, and not go to the parks the whole time. We have stayed in a 1-bdrm. at BWV and there was plenty of room for the four of us.
Any thoughts on these 2 places??? I have not read too many reviews on the HGVC...(only two on TUG) THANKS AGAIN.....

We were there last February. The new HGVC was still being built. It looked nice but it is right on the main road. We did stay at the Cypress Harbor resort. We have stayed at many timeshares but everyone in my family loved this place. It was quiet, the unit was huge (the largest we've ever stayed in). The resort was beautiful with things to do for everyone. Yes, it is not brand new (as with the GV) but everything was clean and worked. We loved the space. I would buy there and have been looking.

That's a tough call.
I stayed at both of these properties last February.
The HGVC is nice and fresh and new. It has a really terrific pool. There is still come construction, but was not a bother at all. All the recreational amenities are open (except for an additional pool to be built in the area of some still under construction units.)
Cypress Harbor was terrific also. As an older resort, some of the units are now being rehabbed. The unit I was in could stand a rehab (especially carpet), but overall was still very well maintained.
I preferred the pool at HGVC. CH had more spacious grounds.
HGVC is closer to Disney. CH is closer to SW and Universal.
HGVC is still selling, so had tours going thru (but not bothersome). CH is of course sold out.
FWIW, the living, dining, kitchen, balcony portion of both HGVC and CH is larger than the comparable portion at BWV.
I would go with what is more important to you: a brand new resort you've never been to before, or having the luxury of the 2nd bedroom.
Also, if your renting from Marriott/Hilton, does MarriottRewards points or Hhonors points matter?

I stayed in a 2 bedroom at the Marriott Cypress Harbour this year.
Never again. Cigarette burns on the carpet, worn furniture. Pools weren't heated enough to make them comfortable during the winter months. Definitely needs an overhaul.

Hi just stayed at HGVC on 20th July for 5nights. Beautiful property. we are HGVC members and usually stay at the Seaworld Location. The new property has fine furnishings all dark wood with marble counter tops in both kitchen and bathrooms.nice sized screen balcony with a huge tv and a DVD player. All of the amenities are not open at the property, there are no tennis courts or volley ball and only one pool so far but it is big and well layed out with waterfalls and columns, quite beautiful. There is also an interactive water paly area for the children as well as a playground. We enjoyed our stay there, it was a lot smaller than the HGVC by Seaworld so felt like the customer service was a lot better.:Pinkbounc :bounce:

I would take fresh and new over worn and aging anytime. That has been my experience with condos in Fla.

Thanks for all of the great information!!:)
We've decided to stay at the new HGVC. Does
anyone know if they are planning on putting
in a tennis court? We do like to play!
