Can't decide - Fantasmic standard or premium for RBT?

I have read through the Fantasmic thread and am still torn between the Premium Dinner Package at RBT (if I can snag a reservation) and the Standard Brunch Package at RBT. I have also watched a few Youtube videos of different viewing areas.

There will be 5 of us...me and DD19 should not have a problem with either area. My mom (78) will be in an ECV, but can get out and walk a bit as well. She could not sit on the ground. Can someone clarify where she would be in her ECV if we do the Standard RBT Fantasmic? Will she be in the back of our section, able to stay in her ECV? We will also be with my niece (9) and nephew (7). Will they be able to see well in the Standard seating area?

Just wondering what you think would be best for our party in this situation. That is assuming that we can get a Premium reservation. Thanks!

We’ve done the premium viewing seating at River Belle Terrace for Fantasmic
Having a seat was absolutely amazing. And at the time that we did it, the menu was different and the food was really good. The menu doesn’t really excite me now.

The view however, was not as good as sitting on the ground in front of the rivers of America. You are off to the side a little bit, but more importantly distraction is that in between the terrace that you’re sitting on and the viewing area along the rivers of America is a major thoroughfare pathway And people are constantly walking by during the show with cast members waving their light up, wands to direct traffic and it was fairly distracting throughout the show.

I would do it again only because having a seat was great, and my husband walks on prosthetics and it was easier than sitting on the ground. It was also really nice to be served hot drinks during the show, by the time the show started we’d already finished our food. And to that note, I should add. It’s a very long time that you’re spending to do the premium. Because it’s the meal and the show all at once versus the other packages where you go eat and get your voucher to return later.

We did the blue Bayou package in October, which I understand doesn’t exist anymore, but has been replaced by cafe Orleans, and even though it was ground seating, it was a really incredible view

Thanks, Maleficent! That's why I'm torn...better view and less time spent for the Standard, not as good a view and more time (not even sure if my niece and nephew will be able to stay from 7:15 until the show starts at 9:00) for the Premium. But we'd have seats. I think I'll wait to hear people weigh in on the ECV issue for my mom. Thanks!

Also, I think you see the fireworks from the RBT standard area, right?

ECVs are parked at the back of the section for the standard, IIRC. Everyone sits for Fantasmic, so she should have a great view if she is allowed to remain seated in the ECV (I am not sure of this as we didn't have anyone in an ECV in our family). I would definitely think about the attention span of the kids with a long experience like the Premium package. And the view is not as good. So if you can confirm that she can be seated in her ECV, then I would do the standard. Yes you can stay for the fireworks but you have to stand for that.

I’m fairly sure you can see them, we just had sat there for so long we didn’t stay for the fireworks

Also, there is bathroom there. I had to go and walked through New Orleans square to the bathroom behind cafe Orleans just before the railroad station
In hindsight, I think the bathroom just passed the Adventureland Bazaar in Adventureland would be closer

She can sit in her ECV in the back of the dining package area. In the picture below, dining package seating is in front of the ropes. You can see two people in ECVs on the far right, in the back. I underlined them in blue.

If you are staying for fireworks, I think the view from RBT might be disappointing for the kids. @crystal1313 has a good video of the view here:

The other nice thing about staying in the Standard viewing area for fireworks is that they do the projections on the water screens in ROA, so you don’t miss out on those. For the folks seated in the ECVs, they will see most of everything for the fireworks since those are up in the sky.
