So, we have our trip booked, staying at CBR October 2-9 with free dining. Everything set with that and happy with free dining discount (works best for us now that both kids are now considered adults).

We have now decided to go ahead and drive down on Friday, October 1st and stay at Pop for the first night and then check in early Saturday at CBR. Using the summer discount that is available now, only value available is AS Music and it is $102. Checking travelocity, I can book Pop preferred room for $90/night plus tax. Expedia and Orbitz are both more. I've never used a travel website before and I'm kind of hesitant to do so. In all my dithering, it has actually gone up from $80 a night.

I can't decide whether to just go ahead and book it or wait and see if something better comes along. :confused3 What should i do???

If Pop is what you really want, I'd suggest you go ahead and book it through Travelocity. Many of us have used them and they're very reliable. I wouldn't hesitate to book through them.

The problem you might find in getting Pop through WDT at a discount is that 10/1 is the official start of Food & Wine Festival, plus Half Marathon weekend. I'd be willing to bet availability is pretty limited.

I've booked three nights on Expedia for the Wilderness Lodge before and even upgraded the room to bunk beds upon arrival and had no issues. For one night, I would take the cheaper room at Pop. :thumbsup2

Edited to add:

I just checked the AP site and they have Pop, Movies and Music all available but for $115 a night, which is the regular price. $90 sounds better to me. lol

Travelocity is a highly well reputed travel site. I wouldn't worry about booking through them, especially for 1 night only. I wouldn't expect any further room discounts during that period and wouldn't risk losing the discount you have found on a remote chance that Disney will offer further discounts for that night.

I would suggest though that you clear your cookies and close your browser and restart your search before booking. Your original rate may return. Many travel sites keep track of what they've offered via cookies and will only show higher rates when you search again. Clearing your cookies takes care of this.

You have to book by today but is you use code hotel 15 you will save 15% with Orbitz.

15% off is a really great deal, especially during this time of the year. I say just go for it and have a great time!

If price is the issue, use hotwire and stay in DTD cheap! We have used them a few times and were always satisfied. We got 4 star acommodations for $45 a nt.

Thanks all for the advice - went ahead and booked through Travelocity. Price really wasn't an issue per se, but I'm cheap and just didn't want to pay more than I had to. :lmao:

I tried the suggestion of clearing out the cookies/closing to see if original rate came back, but no such luck. Also, even with the 15% code on Orbitz, it was still slightly higher.

Anyway, we are booked for our night at Pop. The plan is to leave early Friday morning (beat Atlanta traffic), drive on through to Disney instead of stopping in Ocala, and go to the ESPN club for dinner. Thanks again for the help!

I thought about booking at AKL yesterday - they had pool view rooms over Thanksgiving for $310/ night. I didn't do it, and today they're $340/ night. Bummer!
